defeated CSU Bakersfield (25-30) 5-2 in the 2012 season finale for both squads
Sunday afternoon at Hardt Field.

safety squeeze in the bottom of the first scored Andrew Letourneau's (Sr., Bakersfield, Calif., Bakersfield College) for a 1-0 CSUB advantage.
Brett Vertigan tied the game with an RBI single in the top
of the third. Martinez
returned the lead to CSUB with a sacrifice fly that plated Letourneau in the
bottom of the third. Back to back singles opened the fifth for UCSB with
Brandon Trinkwon's sac fly scoring Vertigan to tie the game for the second
time. Greg Mahle gave the Gauchos the lead for the first time at 3-2 with his
RBI single later in the inning.
The Gauchos scored two runs in the seventh. UC Santa Barbara
outhit CSUB 14-6 with Mahle posting a 3-for-4 performance. Trinkwon also charted
three hits. Letourneau scored both runs and had two hits.
