BAKERSFIELD, Calif.--CSU Bakersfield (12-15) hosts Santa Clara (17-9) Friday and Saturday at Hardt Field. Friday night's game will begin at 6 p.m.  Saturday features a doubleheader beginning at 12 p.m. Game two is scheduled to start 45 minutes upon the conclusion of the opener.

Bakersfield won 2-of-3 games from Santa Clara last season in Santa Clara in the only other previous meetings between the two programs. The Broncos improved to 17-9 under first year head coach Dan O'Brien after defeating Fresno State 9-5 Tuesday afternoon. Lucas Herbst leads Santa Clara in hitting (.402) while Andrew Biancardi is the team leader in home runs (4) and RBI's (21).

Tommy Nance (3-1, RHP) is scheduled to go Friday with Mike Couch (RHP, 1-3) and Powell Fansler (5-1, LHP) going on Saturday.

Spenser Messmore (Sr., Granada Hills, Calif., Alemany HS) tossed his second straight complete game as CSUB defeated UC Santa Barbara 8-2 Tuesday afternoon.
