WOODLAND, Calif.--Four CSU Bakersfield men's swimmers have been named MPSF All-Academic Scholar-Athletes for the 2011-12 season.
Earning the honor for the Roadrunners are Chris Pipes (Sr., 3.58, Fresno, Calif., Merced College), Bobby Klagge (Sr., 3.16, Granite Bay, Calif., Granite Bay HS), Vance Elmore (Sr., 3.16, Bakersfield, Calif., University of Hawaii), and Garrett Hubbard (So., 3.06, Granada Hills, Calif., Bishop Alemany HS).
The student-athletes were nominated for the award based
on the following criteria:
1. 3.00 or better
cumulative grade point average.
2. Student-athlete must be
at least a sophomore academically.
3. Student-athlete must
have completed one full academic year at the institution prior to the season
for which the award is
being received.
4.
Student-athlete must have competed in fifty percent or more of the
institution's competition in the student-athlete's respective sport.
