LOS ANGELES, Calif.—No.
3 USC (19-4) defeated CSU Bakersfield (22-16) 23-5 in water polo action Friday
at McDonald Swim Stadium. The Trojans scored two goals in the first 1:44 to set
the tone.
Bianca Adams (So., Ontario,
Calif., St. Lucy's Priory HS) led
the Roadrunners with two goals. Shannon McKenzie (R-Jr., Rancho
Cucamonga, Calif., Rancho
Cucamonga HS) and Paige Tsuruda (So., Honolulu,
Hawaii, Word of Life Academy)
posted the other CSUB goals.
The Roadrunners were without the services of two starters;
Sam Shead (Jr., Johannesburg, South
Africa, Rand Park HS) and Taylor Hanson (So., Modesto, Calif., Johansen HS) as
well as the team's sixth person; Janelle Shelby (Fr., San Diego, Calif.,
Grossmont HS) who sat out the game due to injuries.
The Roadrunners will return to the pool next Friday as the
No. 3 seed in the WWPA Tournament at UC San Diego. CSUB will take on Cal State
Monterey Bay
(17-13) at 3 p.m.
