No. 3 Washington Sweeps CSUB

BAKERSFIELD, Calif.—No. 3 Washington (29-1) swept CSU Bakersfield (6-19) in a softball doubleheader Monday afternoon at the Roadrunner Softball Complex.

The Huskies posted a 12-0 victory in game one. Washington pitchers' Kaitlin Inglesby and Kasey Stanchek limited the Roadrunners to one hit. Victoria Hayward was 3-for-4 with two runs scored to pace the Huskies.

In game two, Washington defeated CSUB 15-4. Kylee Lahners went 4-for-4 with four RBI's and two runs scored with Kimi Pohlman going 3-for-4 with two runs in the Huskies' leadoff slot. Kaitlin Inglesby tossed the first four innings to get the victory in the circle, her 15th of the season (15-0). Inglesby also hit a three-run home run.

Taylor DeSilva (So., Sunnyvale, Calif., Pacific) was 2-for-2 with two RBI's for the 'Runners. Karissa Veiga (So., Hemet, Calif., Hemet HS) went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Sara Smith (Sr., Northridge, Calif., Biola) also drove in a run.

CSUB returns to the diamond Sunday at UC Davis. Action begins at 12 p.m.
