BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – Cal State Bakersfield Head Softball Coach Jenny Topping has announced the addition of Daisy Muñoz to the Roadrunners' coaching staff as an assistant coach heading into the 2027 season.

Muñoz joins the `Runner coaching staff following nearly three years as a professional softball player, where she established themselves as an impact offensive player and defensive presence at first base. She earned the starting first base position in every game played across all three professional seasons.

From 2024 through 2026, Muñoz represented the Mexico National Team in four international tournaments held in Colombia, Puerto Rico and California. She helped Mexico capture two tournament championships and earned All-Star recognition at first base during the 2025 tournament in Colombia.

She also competed for Bravas de Leon in the Liga Mexicana de Softbol from 2024 through 2026. She led the team in batting average in both 2024 (.395) and 2025 (.349), while also leading the club in home runs in 2024 (4) and 2025 (11). Additionally, Muñoz paced Bravas de Leon in RBIs in 2024 (10) and 2025 (25).

During the summer of 2024, she played for the Hub City Adelitas in the Women's Professional Fastpitch league in Texas. She led the team with 12 home runs and earned All-Star recognition at first base.

Daisy Muñoz began her professional career with Neptunus in the Netherlands from July through October 2023. She helped the club win the first national championship in program history while leading the team with a .450 batting average.

Before turning professional, Daisy Muñoz played collegiately at California State University, Fullerton, competing in the Big West Conference from August 2018 through June 2023.
