Visser Earns CSC Academic All-District Honors

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The 2026 Academic All-District® teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in competition and in the classroom. Cal State Bakersfield is pleased to announce one Roadrunner softball student-athlete who earned the distinction on Tuesday.

The lone `Runner this year is Kayla Visser, who put together a strong season in the classroom and on the field during her first year at CSUB. The junior carries a 3.86 cumulative GPA in the classroom as an engineering major. On the field, Visser ranked third on the squad with a .275 batting average and second with 14 RBI. As Bakersfield's primary catcher, Visser played a crucial role on both ends of the game for the `Runners this season.

Academic All-District and All-America

Nominated student-athletes must meet the minimum athletic requirements of being a starter or important reserve. Academically, candidates must maintain at least a 3.50 GPA and they must have been at their current institution for at least a year (an exception is made for graduate transfers).

Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in the coming weeks.
