BAKERSFIELD, Calif.--CSU Bakersfield split a pair of matches on the final day of the Roadrunner Invitational I Sunday. The Roadrunners went 3-1 in the tournament.

In CSUB's opener, Shae Fournier's goal with 36 seconds remaining lifted No. 12 Indiana past CSU Bakersfield 9-8. The Hoosiers led 5-1 at one point before the Roadrunners tied the score at five, six, and seven. CSUB took an 8-7 advantage with 4:29 to go when Paige Tsuruda (So., Honolulu, Hawaii, Word of Life Academy) scored.  Colleen McNaught tied the match at the 2:08 mark, setting the stage for Fournier's goal.  The Roadrunners were awarded a 6-on-5 advantage with 26 seconds remaining, but Cassie Wyckoff made her 16th save of the match on a Amanda Nesbit (Jr., Chino Hills, Calif., Chino Hills HS) attempt. Indiana ran out the clock and got the win.

Sam Shead (Jr., Johannesburg, South Africa, Rand Park HS) recorded a hat trick to pace the CSUB offense. Jessica Browning (Jr., Lake Forest, Calif., El Toro HS) scored two goals with Nesbit, Tsuruda, and Shannon McKenzie (R-Jr., Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. (Rancho Cucamonga HS) rounding out the Roadrunners' offense. Alex Bayer (Fr., Alta Loma, Calif., Los Osos HS) relieved Megan Pezzolla (Jr., Upland, Calif., Bonita HS) in goal early in the second period and made eight saves.

CSUB defeated Bucknell 9-7 in the final match of the tournament. Browning scored four goals while Shead tallied two. Janelle Shelby (Fr., San Diego, Calif., Grossmont HS), McKenzie, and Tsuruda completed the Roadrunner scoring. Bayer started in the nets and recorded 10 saves.

CSUB (12-9) travels to the Loyola Marymount Tournament next weekend in Los Angeles.
