BAKERSFIELD, Calif.--The CSU Bakersfield wrestling team travels to the Reno Tournament of Champions on Sunday at the Reno Events Center.
The preliminaries will begin at 9 a.m. with the finals scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. Eight Division 1 schools in the Top 50 according to Intermat's rankings
as well as 21 individually ranked wrestlers in the nation's
top division are scheduled to compete.
Coming off a 32-9 victory against San Francisco State Dec. 9, three CSUB wrestlers are nationally ranked. Ian Nickell (R-Fr., 133, Bakersfield, Calif., Bakersfield HS) is ranked in five polls with a high of 16 coming in the Amateur Wrestling News poll.
Timmy Box (R-Fr., 141, Bakersfield, Calif., Bakersfield HS) is in three national polls with his highest ranking of 20 coming in the Amateur Wrestling News poll. Bryce Hammond (R-Fr., 174, Bakersfield, Calif., Bakersfield HS) is ranked in five polls. His highest ranking is 15th in the Gregg Henry/Wrestling Report.
