SAN RAMON, Calif. – Following a standout performance at Cal State Bakersfield's recent dual, redshirt junior Santino Sanchez was named the Pac-12 Wrestler of the Week. This marks the first such honor of Sanchez's career and the first for the `Runners since January of 2025.

Sanchez (141 lb. weight class) earned his third-straight win, all with bonus points, with a second-period fall against California Baptist's Damien Alvarez. The Roadrunner built up a 14-0 lead in less than four minutes, then finished the job with a dominant pin. Sanchez, who is 8-8 on the season including 0-4 against ranked foes, has now won four of his last five matches and he is putting together his strongest season yet.

Sanchez and the `Runners are now hitting the final two weeks of fine tuning and preparations for the Pac-12 Championships, which will be held Mar. 7 in San Luis Obispo, Calif.
