BAKERSFIELD, Calif.--The CSU Bakersfield women's basketball team travels to the Cal Poly Holiday Tournament this weekend.
CSUB faces Stephen F. Austin on Saturday at 2 p.m. before taking on the host Mustangs Sunday at 2.
This will be the first meeting between CSUB and Stephen F. Austin in women's basketball.
The Ladyjacks are 2-1 entering their Nov. 20 game against Northwood. Porsha Roberts, who scored a career high 24 points in the program's 71-68 loss to NAIA Wiley College Nov. 17, leads the team in scoring (15.0 ppg) and rebounding (5.3 rpg).
The Roadrunners and the Mustangs are playing for the seventh time with CSUB holding a 4-2 series advantage. Cal Poly defeated the Roadruners 95-78 last season in Bakersfield. The Mustangs are 2-2 after losing 87-61 to No. 11 California Monday night. Ariana Elegado leads the team in scoring (12.7) and is one of three players averaging in double figures.
Redshirt sophomore guard/forward Cebrina Johnson (Corona, Calif., Santiago HS) was elected CollegeSportsMadness Independent Player of the Week Nov. 19. In two games during the week, Johnson averaged 12.0 points and 8.5 rebounds during the week.
