Lee Drives In Four As CSUB Splits Softball Doubleheader With St. Mary?s

MORAGA, Calif.-Jazmine Lee (Fr., Garden Grove, Calif., Los Alamitos HS) drove in four runs in game two as CSUB (15-27, 3-7 PCSC) split a PCSC doubleheader with St. Mary's (8-20, 4-6 PCSC) Friday afternoon at Cottrell Field.

St. Mary's hit three home runs in the first inning of game one as the Gaels defeated the Roadrunners 10-0. St. Mary's pitcher Brittany Linton limited the Roadrunners to two hits.

In the nightcap, Lee's three-run home run in the top of the third gave the Roadrunners the lead. St. Mary's got one back in the fourth and tied the score with two runs in the sixth. Jamie Miller (Sr., Livermore, Calif., Ohlone College) returned the lead to the 'Runners with an RBI single in the top of the seventh that plated Chelsey Bell (Sr., Ridgecrest, Calif., Burroughs HS). Lee's RBI later in the seventh scored Miller for an insurance run.

Karissa Veiga (Fr., Hemet, Calif., Hemet HS)  and Miller each tallied two hits. Sammy Rodriguez (Jr., Salinas, Calif., Salinas HS) earned the victory in the circle as she tossed a complete game five hitter.

The series concludes with a doubleheader Saturday at St. Mary's.
