Pezzolla Makes 21 Saves To Lead CSUB Past Cal State East Bay

BAKERSFIELD, Calif.--Megan Pezzolla (So., Upland, Calif., Bonita HS) made a career high 21 saves as CSUB defeated Cal State East Bay 7-5 in the regular season water polo finale for the Roadrunners Apr. 17 at the Hillman Aquatics Center. Pezzolla had 11 saves in the first half and made three saves from point-blank range.

Sam Shead (So., Johannesburg, South Africa, Rand Park HS) led the 'Runner offense as she scored three goals. Taylor Hanson (Fr., Modesto, Calif., Johansen HS) posted two goals while Shannon McKenzie (R-So., Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., Rancho Cucamonga HS) and Jessica Browning (So., Lake Forest, Calif., El Toro HS) each had a goal.

CSUB heads to the WWPA Tournament Apr. 29-May 1 with East Bay hosting the tournament.
