BAKERSFIELD,
Calif.--UC Santa Barbara (20-18)
swept a doubleheader from CSUB (14-21) Apr. 13 at the Roadrunner Softball
Complex.
UC Santa Barbara defeated CSUB 5-2 in the opener. RBI's from
Myshayla Fryer (Fr., San Diego, Calif., University HS) and Jamie Miller (Sr., Livermore, Calif., Ohlone
College) gave the Roadrunner two-run advantage in the second. Lauren Boser's
home run in the top of the third got UCSB on the board.
Allison Taylor's double scored McKenzie Kane in the top of
the fifth to tie the score at two. Kathryn Pilpil's three-run home run in the
sixth gave the Gauchos the lead. UCSB pitcher Andriana Collins retired 11 CSUB
batters in a row at one point as she picked up her 11th victory of the year
(11-9).
Game two saw UCSB defeat CSUB 11-1.
A Keilani Jennings three-run home run in the top of the
first put the Gauchos into the lead. UCSB scored three unearned runs in the second.
Allison Taylor and Boser each hit a pair of two-run home runs in the fifth as
the Gauchos scored five runs. UCSB pitcher
Krista Cobb limited the Roadrunners to four hits. Miller had two of the hits
for the 'Runners.
The Roadrunners head to the University of San Diego
this weekend for a four-game PCSC series that gets underway Saturday at 12 p.m.
