SAN DIEGO, Calif-No. 18 UC San Diego (8-8) defeated CSUB
(4-15) 14-11 in Western Water Polo Association play Mar. 11 at Canyonview Pool.
Taylor Hanson (Fr., Modesto, Calif., Johansen HS) posted
a hat trick for the Roadrunners. Hanson added two assists. Jessica Browning
(So., Lake Forest, Calif., El Toro HS) scored two goals and charted three
assists. Shannon McKenzie (R-So. Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., Rancho Cucamonga HS)
scored two goals and had two assists.
Marquez drew two ejections as did Malia Pahoa (Jr. Lake
Elsinore, Calif., Temescal Canyon HS). Megan Pezzolla (So., Upland, Calif., Bonita
HS) posted 11 saves.
CSUB continues its stay in San Diego this weekend with
four games in the San Diego State Tournament. The Roadrunners face No. 17 Indiana (9:30
a.m.) and Princeton (2:30 p.m.) on Saturday. Sunday's play sees CSUB take on
Wagner College (7:30 a.m.) and No. 19 Pacific (1:45 p.m.).
