BAKERSFIELD, Calif. ? The CSUB men's swim team won three events in a 129-78 loss to UC Davis Sunday at the Hillman Aquatics Center.
The Roadrunners got first place finishes from freshman Luka Leskur, senior Evan Crocker and the 200 yard freestyle relay team. Leskur turned in a 1:52.51 time to win the 200 yard backstroke while Crocker beat out five Aggie divers to win the 3-meter event with a score of 235.05. Crocker would also place fourth in the 1-meter event with a point total of 188.55.
Despite a day of less than top notch performances, the ?Runners closed out the meet with a win in the 200 free relay. The team of Filip Zemier, Justin Burdine, Luka Leskur and Rene Hjorth raced to a time of 1:26.94, beating out both of UC Davis' relay teams.
Other top marks for CSUB included Henry Holmberg's 4:40.06, second place finish in the 500 yard freestyle, Justin Burdine's 22.19, second place finish in the 50 yard freestyle, Sampo Sissala's 2:01.83, third place finish in the 200 yard butterfly and Rene Hjorth's 48.75, third place finish in the 100 yard freestyle. Sissala also placed third in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:45.18.
CSUB closes out the regular season by hosting Cal and Stanford for a pair of dual meets on Feb. 7 and 8. Both duals are scheduled to start at 1 p.m. at the Hillman Aquatics Center.
