LOS ANGELES ? Sophomore Amanda Ortiz became the first player in Cal State Bakersfield history to reach 100 goals in a single season while the Roadrunners blew out a pair of opponents on day two of the LMU Invitational at Loyola Marymount on Saturday.

The Roadrunners topped Sonoma State 13-5 before taking care of UC Santa Cruz 11-3.

Ortiz, who entered the day with 99 goals on the year, scored her 100th goal of the year with 6:01 to go in the second period against Sonoma State to give the Roadrunners a 4-0 lead. She scored again three minutes later for a 5-0 lead and Bakersfield took a 6-0 lead into the half.

Sonoma State scored in the second half but Bakersfield never led by less than five goals in the second half for the easy win.

Ortiz led Bakersfield with five goals while Yulia Blinovskaya added four goals in the win.

Amazingly, Ortiz might not be the lone Roadrunner to reach 100 goals this season. After seven goals on Saturday, Blinovskaya now has 93 goals, which is second-most in school history. She will have the Women's Water Polo Association Championships next weekend to score seven goals and reach 100 goals.

In the second game of the day, Bakersfield jumped out to a 5-0 lead over UC Santa Cruz and led 8-3 at the half before pulling a second-half shutout en route to the 11-3 win.

Paola Medina led Bakersfield against UC Santa Cruz with four goals, while Blinovskaya scored three and Ortiz added two.

The Roadrunners will compete in the WWPA Championships next weekend in Santa Cruz, Calif.
