• The Cal State Bakersfield women's soccer team continues the 2026 season by hosting the annual Rowdy Run before heading back out on the road. 
• Interim Head Coach Martin Navarro Jr. returns a core group of `Runners who have valuable experience to add on the pitch. 
  • This year’s Roadrunner squad features 7 returners and 23 newcomers. 
• The `Runners will look to the likes of CJ Walters, Daniela Osejo, and Jaiden Gore to provide the example as the most experienced returning `Runners.

• Bakersfield will compete against former `Runner Jenna Largent, who played with CSUB last year. 

CSUB at San Diego 

• The `Runners will take on the Toreros down south:

  • San Diego, CA / Torero Stadium  
• CSUB will face the Toreros for the sixth time in the all-time series. 
  • San Diego leads Bakersfield 3-1-1 all-time. 
  • The last time the two teams played was during the 2022 season when the `Runners dropped a 2-1 road loss.  
• This far in the 2026 season, USD’s women are 1-1-2 with their only loss coming from a nationally ranked opponent in No. 20 UCLA. 
• Roadrunner junior Daniela Osejo will be versing her younger sister, Veronica Osejo, who is a freshman on the Torero roster.

• The Roadrunner men’s soccer team will hit the road to face San Diego State in an away matchup. 
• Fourth-year Head Coach Adam Grant welcomed back 15 returners, including 5 starters from the 2025 squad, as roster filled with experience. 
  • This year’s Roadrunner squad features 13 newcomers. 
• The `Runners benefit from the veteran leadership of men like Zenden Hart and Filip Arras to lead the way. Both were recognized as part of the 11-man Big West Preseason team. 
• The CSUB roster features student-athletes from 9 different countries spanning 4 continents: United States, Australia, Germany, England, Mexico, Norway, Switzerland, Canada, and Israel. 
• Bakersfield has proved to be a contender each year in The Big West and the `Runners are off to a great start to 2026. 
  • This year, The Big West features seven teams due to a collaborative partnership made with the Pac-12 this summer. 

CSUB at San Diego State 

• The `Runners will head down to San Deigo to face off against the Aztecs:

• Bakersfield will face the Aztecs for the tenth time in the all-time series. 
  • The series is currently 8-1 with SDSU leading. 
• The two teams last matched up three years ago in San Diego where SDSU scraped by with a 1-0 victory. 
  • Bakersfield battled San Diego State in a defensive clash until the Aztecs scored in the 82nd minute to secure a 1-0 win. Despite the result, CSUB showed strong defensive play and battled throughout against a talented SDSU squad. 
• This game will mark the first matchup between the two teams following the Pac-12/Big West conference collaboration.

• The Cal State Bakersfield volleyball team is set to open its home schedule this weekend with a two-match series on Friday and Saturday. 
• First-year Head Coach Kristen Wright has already made her mark on the CSUB Volleyball program and the local volleyball community, bringing high energy and enthusiasm back to her hometown of Bakersfield. 
• Wright retained 7 talented `Runners from last year’s team, including outside hitter Suelen Lima, setter Luiza Da Cruz, and libero Analiese Gagliano. 
• Eleven newcomers joined the roster this year with four of them coming from NCAA Division I institutions. A few `Runner rookies to look out for are Bakersfield native Jordyn Waite-Ward and outside hitters Ana Benjamin and Anna Bacchin. 
• Bakersfield’s squad features student-athletes from 5 different countries spanning 4 continents: United States, Brazil, Germany, Italy, and Turkey. 
• The `Runners return home after a strong start to the season, winning two of three matches in Texas, including a sweep.

• The Wildcats will feel a little unfamiliar during the road matches given that only one member of their roster is a native of California.

• The Cal State Bakersfield cross country team prepares to kick off the 2026 season with its annual trip to Pepperdine’s meet. 
• Marcia Mansur-Wentworth, CSUB Director of Track & Field and Cross Country, heads into her 16th season with the Roadrunners. 
• Cal State Bakersfield’s roster features one standout returner alongside eight talented newcomers. 
• Mansur-Wentworth returns sophomore Ava Leisenfelder, who was a record setter during her rookie campaign. 
• Morgan McKenna, a junior college transfer, and incoming freshman Hannah Issa are expected to join Leisenfelder at the front of the `Runner pack.

CSUB at Waves Invitational 

• The `Runners are ready for their annual trip to Pepperdine’s 4k race:

• Last year at the Waves Invitational, Ava Leisenfelder set CSUB’s freshman record in the 4k race with a time of 14:38.4.

• The Roadrunner golf team will hit the road to start the 2026-27 season with the first of four Fall tournaments. 
• Led by fourth-year Head Coach Katy Barrett Baxter, the newest edition of the Roadrunners features 5 returners and 3 newcomers. 
• All five veteran `Runners bring ample experience along with them, led by top returning scorers Anna Kehrer and Rena Kaneko. 
• Bakersfield looks to continue great success from the 2025-26 season after resetting the program record for single-season scoring average (302.60) for the second-straight year. 
  • The `Runners also reached the highest National Rankings (#177) in program history last year, climbing more than 100 spots since Barrett Baxter arrived. 

CSUB at UNC Bear Crawl 

• The `Runners head toward the Rockies for their first tournament of the season:

• CSUB will join a field of five other teams including Montana, UTRGV, and tournament host Northern Colorado. 
• The teams are scheduled to play three rounds of golf over two days on the Par 71 course. 
• The `Runners will be playing their first tournament in Colorado in program history (since 2006-07).
