CSUB Ties Program-High with 4 WGCA All-American Scholars

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – The Women's Golf Coaches Association announced its list of 2026 All-American Scholars on Monday with a total of 1,551 women's collegiate golfers recognized with the prestigious honor. Tthe Cal State Bakersfield women's golf team enjoyed a program high with four Roadrunners earning spots on the list, tying the previous high from the 2024 season.

Senior Sarah Mutai graduates from the program as both the highest-performing golfer in `Runner history as well as a four-time All-American Scholar. Sophomore Anna Kehrer earns a repeat spot on the list while newcomers Kate Montemayor and Fiona Clancy joined the list as well.

The four women make up just the second `Runner quartet to earn the academic recognition in the same year. In three seasons under the leadership of Head Coach Katy Barrett Baxter, CSUB has enjoyed 11 total honorees.

The criteria for selection to the WGCA All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics. Two of the `Runners honored cruised past the minimum cumulative GPA requirement of 3.50 with Kehrer (3.96) and Clancy (3.93) leading the pack while all four came in above a 3.7 GPA.

The 2025-26 season marks the ninth-straight in which CSUB's golf team enjoyed at least one `Runner donning the WGCA's list.
