Bakersfield Rallies for 11-10 Thriller Over Southern Indiana

Bakersfield, CA –  Bakersfield delivered an electrifying performance at Hardt Field today, rallying past Southern Indiana 11-10 in a game filled with big hits, clutch pitching, and late-inning heroics.

Freshman Ethan Myers made his first career start and immediately made an impact, going five innings with four earned runs and four strikeouts. Myers showed poise beyond his years, keeping Southern Indiana off balance and giving the Roadrunners a platform to explode offensively. Relievers Jacob Gutierrez and Gethse Ulloa kept the momentum alive, while Jeter came in to close the game with a perfect 0.2-inning save, fanning a batter and locking down the win.

The offense was led by Elgin Bennett, who had a monster day with two home runs and four RBIs, including a massive three-run shot in the fifth inning that swung momentum firmly in Bakersfield’s favor. Yahir Acevedo contributed two hits and scored twice, Elijah Pelayo and Kanoa Morisaki added timely RBIs, and Jacob May showcased aggressive baserunning that kept pressure on Southern Indiana’s defense throughout the game.

The Roadrunners never backed down, responding to a late rally with key hits and smart baserunning. From Myers’ steady pitching to Bennett’s power display and Jeter’s clutch finish, CSU Bakersfield demonstrated the balance, depth, and heart that fans love. The win moves the Roadrunners to 2-2 on the season.
