CSUB Announces 2025 Men's Soccer Schedule

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – On the heels of a 2024 season filled with success and a run at a Big West regular season title, the Cal State Bakersfield men's soccer team is itching to get back to competition. Head Coach Adam Grant has put together a challenging schedule for the 2025 campaign with ambitions of competing for the Big West trophy once again.

"We are extremely excited about the upcoming season and the level of competition we play in both pre-season and non-conference," Grant said of the year ahead. "We believe it will prepare us for the tough conference schedule. We also have some great games at home this year that the Bakersfield community can come out and enjoy top D1 Soccer."

The Roadrunners unofficially kick off the season with a trio of exhibitions in early August. CSUB will tackle a pair of perennial soccer powers in road swings to UCLA (Aug. 8) and Stanford (Aug. 12) before hosting The Master's University at home on Aug. 16.

The regular season begins with a pair of games against future Big West foes, on the road against Utah Valley (Aug. 21) and at home versus California Baptist (Aug. 25). Following another home match against San José State (Aug. 29), Bakersfield will hit the road for three-straight matches.

The end of non-conference play will see the `Runners welcome Santa Clara (Sept. 17) and Gonzaga (Sept. 21) to Bakersfield. CSUB is set to dive into its Big West schedule with a pair of road games at the start of October before hosting UC Irvine (Oct. 8) for the team's annual Education Day game.

Following a busy month featuring nine matches, the `Runners will close out the regular season at home against Cal Poly on Nov. 1. A year ago in San Luis Obispo, Calif., the regular-season title came down to Bakersfield's road match against the Mustangs. Cal Poly broke a scoreless tie in the 87th minute, capturing the league trophy and ensuring CSUB will be motivated for redemption in 2025.
