BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Following a successful launch of a Hall of Fame, the Cal State Bakersfield Athletics Department has enjoyed reconnecting and reminiscing with the community as both have looked back on the success of the Roadrunners with fondness. With the inaugural class in the books, it is now time to move the focus to the Hall of Fame Class of 2026. CSUB Athletics has opened the annual nomination period with deserving nominees being accepted through the end of March.

The CSUB Athletics Hall of Fame commemorates former `Runner student-athletes, teams, coaches, administrators, and contributors for their achievements and contributions to CSUB athletics and the community. Eligible athletes must be at least ten years removed from their last competition at CSUB, while coaches and administrators must have retired or left the university at least five years ago. 

Former `Runners who were put forward during last year’s nomination period will remain on the ballot for the Class of 2026. For the full list of eligibility requirements and more information, visit GoRunners.com/HallofFame.

The 2025 CSUB Athletics Hall of Fame class included Loni Burton, Rudy Carvajal, Stephen Neal, the 1992-93 Men’s Basketball Team, and Charles Craig. Those legendary names will now be known for being in the inaugural Hall of Fame class. Fans now have the opportunity to nominate a new set of `Runners for the CSUB Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2026. 

In the 50+-year history of CSUB Athletics, the `Runners have tallied 30 national championships, 215 individual National Champions, over 1,000 NCAA All-Americans, 18 Olympians, and 25 World Championships Qualifiers.
