• The Cal State Bakersfield baseball team wraps up its Big West home slate with UC Irvine, the #13 ranked team in the country.
• With two conference series remaining, Bakersfield continues to push for a spot in the first-ever Big West Championship.
• Outfielder Nick Mascaro and Designated Hitter Brock Perreira have been a two-headed monster offensively with both `Runners batting over .300 on the year. 
• Mascaro, along with Elijah Pelayo, is one of only two `Runners to start every game this season.
• First baseman Evan Cloyd leads the country in Hit by Pitch with 31. This past weekend, the Bakersfield native reset the all-time Big West single-season record and is within striking distance of the NCAA record (39).

CSUB at Fresno State (23-24, 15-9 Mountain West)

• The `Runners and Bulldogs are wrapping up the home-and-home series with Tuesday’s game in Fresno.
• Back in March, Fresno State earned a 17-8 victory in Bakersfield.
• The `Runners swept the season series 2-0 in 2024, so the Bulldogs are attempting to return the favor here in 2025.
• This will be the 36th all-time meeting between CSUB and Fresno State. The Bulldogs own a slight advantage in the all-time series, 19-16.

CSUB vs. # 13 UC Irvine (34-11, 20-4 Big West)

• Ranked as high as #9 this season, UC Irvine comes to Bakersfield as the Big West leader in conference record.
• The Anteaters dropped 2-of-3 games vs. UC San Diego last weekend, Irvine’s first time losing a Big West series this season.
• CSUB is 6-27 all-time against UCI, including a 2-11 record since joining the Big West in 2011.
• A year ago in Irvine, the Anteaters swept the series against the `Runners 3-0. Bakersfield made the series finale a battle but ultimately dropped the game 3-2 in the 12th inning.
• Games Friday (6:30 PM), Saturday (6:30 PM), and Sunday (1:00 PM)
• Sunday’s game is both Senior Day (ceremony before the game) as well as Mother’s Day, where the `Runners will be celebrating their mothers.

• The Cal State Bakersfield track and field throwers prepares for their final regular season meet.
• The women's program had a historic indoor season, during which multiple school records were broken and various top-five marks were achieved. 
• Makiah Parker, Skye Odom, and Julie Johnson broke school records in their indoor events. 
• 21 athletes have broken into the CSUB all-time list for their events this season. 
• Bakersfield native Jacob Yagers has broken the 1,500m school record twice this season. The once 33 year old record is now Yager’s with a time of 3:42.51.
• Jacob Yagers and Javier Toro have received Big West Athlete of the Week honors this season.
• Freshman Makiah Parker ran a 100m in 11.56 and a 200 m in 23.72, the fastest times for a CSUB runner in over 40 years. Parker ties the school record in the 100m and holds the 200m record for the Roadrunners. She ranks her second in the Big West for the 100m and fourth in the conference for the 200m.  
• Javier Toro had a successful season last year in which he qualified for the NCAA West Preliminaries Meet. He currently ranks 27th in the NCAA West Region for the hammer throw and holds the third-best mark in program history.

Titan Tune Up – Friday, May 9

• The Cal State Bakersfield throwers prepare for their final regular season meet.
• They are the only CSUB athletes representing Bakersfield at the Titan Tune Up hosted by Cal State Fullerton.
• The Friday meet will be their last test before the Big West Track & Field Championships. 
• The 2025 squad has shown consistent success in their events all season long. 
• Tom Richardson will compete in the men's shot put and the hammer throw. Joining Richardson in both events is freshman Tyler Balgeman who will also take part in the discus. 
• Newcomer Grace Padron will compete in just the women's hammer throw.
