  • The Top 6 teams in the Big West standings will qualify for the first-ever Big West Championship, set for May 21-25 in Fullerton, Calif.
• Outfielder Nick Mascaro has established himself as a force at the plate, ranking in the Top 10 in The Big West in batting average (.349), home runs (6), and walks (21).
  • Mascaro recently had a 30-game streak of reaching base safely snapped. His streak ranks third in program history.
  • Teammate Noah Alvarez had a 26-game streak snapped this weekend as well with the pair making a deadly duo of reaching base.
• Right-handed pitcher Ryan King ranks ninth in the league with 42 strikeouts this season.

• The Cal State Bakersfield track and field team is set to compete at the Titans Friday Night Lights meet hosted by Cal State Fullerton
• The women's program had a historic indoor season, during which multiple school records were broken and various top-five marks were achieved. 
• Makiah Parker, Skye Odom, and Julie Johnson broke school records in their respective events. 
• Bakersfield native Jacob Yagers has broken 1,500m school record this season. The once 33 year old record is now Yager’s with a time of 3:44.40.
• Yagers has been named Big West Track Athlete of the Week this season.
• Freshman Makiah Parker ran a 200m in 24.12; it is the fastest time in 40 years for the event.
• Javier Toro had a successful season last year in which he qualified for the NCAA West Preliminaries Meet. 

CSUB at Titans Friday Night Lights - Apr. 11

• The program looks to take a small group of athletes to the meet, while the others will take a weekend off from competiton.
• Field events for the single-day meet will start with the men’s hammer throw at 2:00 p.m.
• On the track, the first event of the evening will be the women’s 4x100m relay, which will start at 5:00 p.m.
• The throwers continue to impress, they are led by senior Javier Toro. Tom Richardson and freshman Tyler Balgeman join Toro in the hammer throw and shot put.
• Grace Padron will be the lone `Runner in the women’s hammer throw.
• Amiera Hollis is set to compete in both the 100m and 200m events.
• Skyblue Gonzales continues to take on the 400m.
• A group of CSUB athletes consisting of Meshach Davis, Dylan Thompson, and Jacob Mounmanivong will take on the 100m and 200m this weekend.

• The Roadrunners will roll out Sarah Mutai, Iris Han, Anna Kehrer, Nicole Whipple, and Kate Montemayor with Emilee Canepa as a subtitute
  • Last year CSUB had Mutai, Han, and Whipple in the Big West Championships
  • Han led CSUB last year in Vegas with a 3-round score of +14
• CSUB is wrapping up another record setting season under Coach Katy Baxter as they continue to take strides in improving the program
