LAS VEGAS, Nev. – The Cal State Bakersfield women's golf team wrapped up the 2025 Big West Championship and a historic season with one last round on Tuesday, April 15. Iris Han and Sarah Mutai led Bakersfield in the final tournament, offering the Roadrunners a continued solid foundation as Juniors in the program. CSUB's strong Fall season helped propel them into a challenging Spring slate that featured conference opponents.

Notables
- Second-year Head Coach Katy Barrett Baxter guided the `Runners to pick up where they left off last season.
- CSUB finished ninth of nine teams at the 2025Â Big West Championship with a final total of 936 strokes (315-311-310) at Spanish Trail Country Club in Las Vegas, Nev.
- Han led the Roadrunners finishing 26th in the tournament on the individual leaderboard. The Bakersfield native finished with a score of +11 (73-79-75), the lowest by a `Runner at the Big West Championship since 2021 (+9, Brandi Borjon).

CSUB at Big West Championship
- To open up the Championship, the `Runners were led by Han (73, +1) and Mutai (77, +5).
- On moving day, Bakersfield saw improvement from the whole team, with everyone shooting in the 70s. Kate Montemayor (78) had a seven-stroke improvement and Mutai improved by two strokes to finish day two with a score of 75.
- In the final round, Nicole Whipple posted a score of 75 for her best round of the tournament, and her final round as a Roadrunner. The lone Senior helped lead the way for CSUB as Han also finished with a 75 to round out their trip to Vegas.
A Historic Season
- As a team, CSUB posted the second-best scoring average in program history (310.56) last year. This year they reset the program record with a team scoring average of 306.00.
- Five different `Runners averaged in the 70s on the year (Han, Mutai, Kehrer, Whipple, and McKee).
- Iris Han is now first in program history for single-season scoring average (75.07), resetting teammate Sarah Mutai's record that was set last year (75.52).
- The Roadrunners tallied 17 different performances on the program's Top 10 lists for team and individual scores for either 18, 36, or 54 holes.
- Freshman Anna Kehrer reset the best `Runner single-round debut score with a 74 (+2) at the Wolverine Invitational.
- Iris Han shattered the individual 54-hole tournament score with a 205 (-11) at Boulder Creek, previously held by Sarah Mutai's 211 (-5) set last year at Boulder Creek.
- Mutai (75.88), Han (77.01), and Whipple (78.81) all sit in the top three for career scoring averages in Roadrunner program history.
- The Clash at Boulder Creek was historic for the Roadrunners as Iris Han shot 67 (-5) in both rounds one and two.
- It also featured two outstanding team rounds, both of which sat at No. 1 (290) and No. 3 (293) in CSUB for single-round score.
- The team reset the program's all-time 54-hole tournament score record (878) which was previously set last season at 888 strokes.
- Mutai wrapped up her 2024-25 season placing herself in second all-time for single season rounds in the 70s with 24, two away from Ariel Lee who sits in first.
- Mutai and Han are the only Roadrunners to have career rounds in the 60s, both with two and will have another year to build upon that feat.
- After a long and busy season, Barrett Baxter and the `Runners will enjoy some deserved time off before hitting the grind again to continue progressing the CSUB Golf program.
