• The `Runners slipped down in the league standings after suffering a series loss against UC Davis last weekend, but Bakersfield still has time to make a run toward one of the five spots in the first-ever Big West Baseball Championship.
• Infielder Noah Alvarez and outfielder Elgin Bennett were Bakersfield’s offensive leaders last week.
• Reliever Dante Jackson has been highly effective for Bakersfield recently, throwing 5.1 scoreless innings last week.

CSUB @ Hawai’i

• Starting Friday, Apr. 25, Bakersfield begins a Big West series against the Hawai’i Rainbow Warriors.
• Hawai’i currently sits in sixth in the Big West standings (25-13 overall, 10-11 Big West).
• The ‘Bows started league play with a 9-4 record, but have lost 5 of their last 6 Big West games.
• Last season in Bakersfield, Hawai’i took the first two games of the series before the `Runners claimed the series finale, 3-2.

• The Roadrunners rank 3rd in the Big West for home runs (23)
• Freshman Maalia Cherry is tied for first all-time in CSUB history for single season home runs (12)
  • She ranks 85th in the nation and 1st in the Big West this season
• Redshirt senior Kaia Johnson has 19 stolen bases on the year, good for 2nd in the conference and 67th in the country
  • As a team, CSUB is 2nd in the conference and 94th in the country with 53 total stolen bases

• After competing in the LMU Invite, the  Roadrunners will now head to Santa Monica to compete in the 2025 Big West Championships hosted by CSUN.
• CSUB will enter the tournament as the 6th seed of 7 teams and try to compete for the program's first Big West title.
• The team will face off against Hawai'i on Thursday to kick off the tournament pool play.
• Depending on the results from the first match, the `Runners may face off against either Long Beach or Sacramento State for the second match of pool play.
• Teams that perform well enough advance to Friday's Bracket Play.
• The `Runners will look to three veteran leaders, who lead CSUB in all-time career wins: Vivi Kaelin, Ella Erteltova, and Ella Ensign.
• Second-year Head Coach Andy Fulenwider will lead the `Runners to compete against some of the best teams in the nation.

• The Cal State Bakersfield track and field team heads back to Santa Barbara for the UCSB Invitational.
• The Roadrunner women's program had a historic indoor season, during which multiple school records were broken and various top-five marks were achieved. 
• 14 athletes have broken into the CSUB all-time list for their events this season. 
  • Makiah Parker, Skye Odom, and Julie Johnson broke school records in their respective events. 
  • Bakersfield native Jacob Yagers has broken the 1,500m school record this season. The once 33 year old record is now Yager’s with a time of 3:44.40.
• Jacob Yagers and Javier Toro have received Big West Athlete of the Week honors this season.
• Freshman Makiah Parker ran a 100m in 11.68 and a 23.95 in the 200m; these are the fastest times in over 40 years for a CSUB runner.
• Javier Toro had a successful season last year in which he qualified for the NCAA West Preliminaries Meet. He currently is on track to qualify once again (ranks 24th in the NCAA West Region for the hammer throw) and he holds the third-best mark in program history.

UCSB Invitational – Friday-Saturday, Apr. 25-26

• CSUB will be back at Santa Barbara for the second time this season.
• The shot put and discus will take place on Friday, while all other events will be contested on Saturday.
• Tom Richardson, Javier Toro, and Tyler Balgeman are set to compete in the shot put and hammer throw. Balgeman will also throw in the discus event.
• Newcomer Grace Padron is set to competed in the hammer throw.
• In the jumps, Skye Odom and Mackenzie Okonta will be in both the triple and long jump.
• On the track, Emilia Mandela will be joined by teammates Ivy Miller and Jaztyn Greer in the women’s 100mH. Greer and Miller also toe the line in the 400m Hurdles.
• Mandela will be a part of the 4x100m relay team along with Julie Johnson, Amiera Hollis, and Makiah Parker.
• Both Parker and Hollis are set for the 100m and 200m.
• Johnson is set to compete in the 400m.
• Rain Gomez (1,500m) and Crystal Torrecillas (800m) will toe the line for middle-distance events.
• For the men, Jaden Cutliff will double in the 100mH and 400mH.
• Meshach Davis, Jacob Mounmanivong, Kenny Rugnao, and Matthew Karapetyan will all compete in the 100m, 200m, and be legs in the 4x100m relay.
• Senior Skyblue Gonzales is set to be in the 400m and will be in the 4x400m relay.
