CSUB Athletics Announces Creation of Hall of Fame

Hall of Fame nominations will be accepted soon; inaugural class to be inducted Fall 2025

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – Over half a century of winning games, producing All-Americans, and crowning National Champions represents a vast and proud history of success for the Cal State Bakersfield Athletics Department. CSUB Assistant Vice President/Director of Athletics Kyle Conder has announced the creation of the CSUB Athletics Hall of Fame, which will enshrine former Roadrunner student-athletes, teams, coaches, administrators, and contributors for their notable achievements and contributions to CSUB Athletics and society as a whole.

"We are excited and proud to honor CSUB Athletics' legacy of success," Conder said. "As we approach important milestones for our program, now is a great time to celebrate the achievements of those who inspire today's Roadrunners. We are looking forward to engaging our community and celebrating our inaugural CSUB Athletics Hall of Fame class."

Since the inception of CSUB Athletics in 1971, the `Runners have accumulated 30 National Championships, 215 individual National Champions, 989 NCAA All-Americans, 18 Olympians, and 26 World Championships Qualifiers. The CSUB Athletics Hall of Fame will welcome its inaugural class of inductees in Fall of 2025, preserving the memory of the best of the best of men and women who sported the Blue & Gold.

"For nearly 55 years, the student athletes, coaches, teams and supporters of Cal State Bakersfield have brought distinction and pride to our campus and the entire community, creating the traditions and school spirit that make us who we are as Roadrunners," said CSUB President Dr. Vernon B. Harper. "It is high time that we honor and thank these extraordinary contributors to the CSUB story of triumph, grit and heart."

Cal State Bakersfield Athletics will be busily preparing for the first-ever Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony with several key milestones along the way:

Creation of the Selection Committee
- Committee member applications being accepted here through Mar. 1, 2025
Collection of Inductee Nominations
- Nominations will be accepted here from Mar. 1 through Apr. 30
Review of Inductee Nominations
- Inaugural class to be announced in May
Preparation for Induction Ceremony
- Scheduled for Fall 2025

The public is encouraged to nominate former CSUB student-athletes, coaches, staff, teams, and supporters. Eligible athletes must be at least ten years removed from their last competition at CSUB while coaches and administrators must have retired or left the university at least five years ago.
