The `Runners opened the scoring early with a 17th-minute goal as Isis Salazar-Ortega broke through traffic to put Bakersfield up 1-0. The goal was Salazar-Ortega's fourth of the season, a team-high in CSUB's well-balanced offense.
Davis answered back with a goal just over five minutes later, briefly tying the score, but the deadlock would not last. In the 27th minute, Jaiden Gore gathered a rebounded ball and finished through traffic to give CSUB the 2-1 advantage it would take to the halftime break.
At 58:26, Bakersfield continued the offensive outpouring as a breakaway led to Cynthia Ramirez's fourth goal of the season and a 3-1 lead. In the 66th minute, the `Runners capped their scoring, earning the 4-1 final score, when fifth-year Kim Garcia cleaned up a scrum and poked her first goal of the year into the back of the net.
CSUB will hit the road one more time for a weekend clash with UC Riverside on Sunday before returning home to close out the regular season with two more matches at the Main Soccer Field in Bakersfield. Tickets are available ahead of time at GoRunners.com/Tickets. Skip the line, buy online!
