CSUB Athletics Announces Fall ESPN+ Broadcast Slate

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The 2024 Fall season is swiftly approaching and the Cal State Bakersfield Athletics Department anxiously awaits the first contests. Heading into the new season, CSUB is excited to once again partner with ESPN, the world's leading multiplatform sports entertainment brand, to broadcast all 29 Roadrunner men's soccer, women's soccer, and women's volleyball home games live on ESPN+, the No. 1 sports streaming platform in the country.

Cal State Bakersfield has been collaborating with ESPN to broadcast `Runner home games for more than a decade, including as part of The Big West's ongoing partnership with the global sports leader. Sports fans who are unable to attend CSUB's home contests in person will be able to stay up-to-date with the `Runners live on ESPN+ with CSUB Director of Creative Services Kyle LePere leading the production process.

Under LePere's leadership, Cal State Bakersfield has broadcasted 96 out of 99 regular-season home matches for the two soccer programs and the indoor volleyball team dating back to 2017. During the 2023-24 season, these three sports combined to average nearly 8,000 viewers per home contest on ESPN+.

The highest-flying and most exciting plays the `Runners have made, several of them making SportsCenter Top Play of the Day lists, have all been streamed to thousands of fans watching from home and that tradition continues this year. Cal State Bakersfield's first broadcasted home game for the Fall season is a men's soccer team's home opener, Aug. 22, against Utah Tech. Some of the best matchups and storylines of the Fall season are listed below:

- Sept. 5: Opening the annual Roadrunner Classic, presented by Hourglass Hotel, Women's Volleyball takes on Oregon State for just the third meeting in the all-time series.
- Sept. 11: Men's Soccer looks to extend its unbeaten streak against former conference rival UNLV to five-straight matches.
- Sept. 19: Women's Soccer faces state-neighbor Nevada for the first time in program history.
- Sept. 27: Women's Volleyball starts Big West play by hosting defending league Champion UC Santa Barara.
- Oct. 12: After starting the all-time series against long-time rival CSUN with a 0-24-2 record, Men's Soccer has won two of the last three meetings including a 1-0 road victory in Northridge last year.
- Oct. 17: Women's Soccer earned its first win in the all-time series against UC Santa Barbara last year (previously 0-9-2). The Roadrunners look to make it back-to-back victories against the Gauchos.
