Moore Receives Final Call Up In NBA Regular Season Finale

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The 2023-24 NBA season was a landmark moment for the Cal State Bakersfield Men’s Basketball team. The year featured the second-ever Roadrunner to make an NBA debut, Taze Moore, who enjoyed multiple call ups including his most recent call up Sunday where he showed out versus the Sacramento Kings.

In the regular season finale, Moore packed the stat sheet with 12 points (5-14 FG), eight rebounds, four assists, and a steal in his 30 minutes of action. The `Runner Alum, made his presence felt with a memorable dunk that CSUB fans saw for many years in the Icardo Center, dunking on 2008 18th overall NBA draft pick and three-time NBA Champion JaVale McGee.

Before being the 81st and final call up of the 2023-24 NBA season, the Bakersfield Alum, was playing in the G League for both the Rip City Remix and Texas Legends. Moore was traded from the Legends to the Remix on Jan. 11, 2024, for a 1st and 2nd round pick in the 2024 NBA G League Draft.

In his time with the both the Legends and Remix in the 2023-24 season, in 41 games played, Moore averaged 29.6 minutes, 12.5 points, 5.1 rebounds, 5.6 assists, 1.4 steals, and 0.4 blocks while shooting 46.5% from the field. His quality performances drew attention from the Trail Blazers, earning Moore a 10-day contract back in January, when he scored his first NBA bucket on January 21 versus the Los Angeles Lakers on a fastbreak dunk.
