• The Cal State Bakersfield women’s basketball program will take on Hawai'i for their final game of the 2025 season. 
• CSUB is led by Ari Dizon, who leads the Big West in total blocked shots (67) and blocks per game (2.3).

• The Cal State women’s basketball team will conclude its season with a road game in Hawai'i.
• Hawai’i currently leads the women’s side of the conference with a 14-4 Big West record and a 20-8 overall record.
• In their last meeting, Hawai’i defeated Cal State 66-37.

• The Cal State Bakersfield track and field program continues its early season at the Beach Opener hosted by Long Beach State.
• The women's program is coming off a historic indoor season where they saw multiple school records broken and various top-five marks in program history. Makiah Parker, Skye Odom, and Julie Johnson broke school records in their respective events. 
• Bakersfield's very own Jacob Yagers rebroke his school record in the men's 3,000m race with a time of 8:30.30. Yagers shaved off five seconds from his previous record-breaking performance that he had last year. 
• Javier Toro is coming off a successful season in which he qualified for the NCAA West Preliminaries Meet. 

CSUB at Beach Opener - Mar. 7-8

• After coming off two second-place performances at the Gaucho Relays, Javier Toro will continue his momentum in the hammer throw and shot put.
• Jacob Yagers will compete in both the 1,500m and 3,000m this weekend. Yagers is coming off a record-breaking performance in the 3,000m. He will carry momentum heading into a busy weekend.
• Ethan Lavina is set for both the long jump and triple jump. Last week, the Hartnell College transfer jumped a CSUB #19 mark on the all-time list. 
• Meshach Davis will double in both the 100m and 200m this weekend. He is set to be in the 4x100m relay squad as well. 
• On the women's side, Makiah Parker will race in the 200m and 400m as well as being a leg in the 4x100m relay team for the `Runners.
• She is coming off a 100m performance that made her the 7th fastest runner in CSUB history. 
• Bakersfield native Julie Johnson will join Parker in both events.
• After her runner-up performance at last week's meet, Emilia Mandela is set to compete in the 100mH. She will be the lead leg for the 4x100m relay team and joins Parker and Johnson in the 200m. 
• Skye Odom is set to compete in the long jump and triple jump. The freshman will join Mandela in the 100mH. 
• Ivy Miller ranks #11 in program history in the 400mH. She will continue to be in the event this weekend. 
• Grace Padron will take on the hammer throw.

• The field will include Southern Utah, Oral Roberts, Montana, Boise State, CSUN, Wyoming, Utah Tech, Weber State, Portland State, Stetson, and Idaho State
• The `Runners will look to build off their performance last week and create momentum before heading into the Fresno State Classic and Big West Championship
• CSUB will be rolling out Sarah Mutai, Annah Kehrer, Iris Han, Nicole Whipple, and Kate Montemayor for this upcoming weekend

• Postseason competition begins this weekend for the Cal State Bakersfield wrestling team, which will take on the Pac-12 Championships in Oregon on Thursday.
• Two Roadrunners are currently nationally ranked by multiple major polls (FloWrestling/InterMat/The Open Mat): #4/4/2 AJ Ferrari (197) and #29/20/15 Jake Andrews (HWT).
• Former NCAA Champion AJ Ferrari is ranked the #13 Pound-for-Pound wrestler in the country by FloWrestling.
• FloWrestling and InterMat rank Cal State Bakersfield #28 as a team, while The Open Mat has the Roadrunners at #21.
• Bakersfield native Jake Andrews is now 21-2 on the year, making his true senior season his best to date.
• CSUB has won Pac-12 Athlete of the Week five times this season: Jake Andrews (Nov. 26), Guillermo Escobedo (Dec. 17), AJ Ferrari (Dec. 24 & Jan. 14), Gerrit Nijenhuis (Jan. 28).
• Bakersfield’s wrestling program had an active streak of sending at least one Roadrunner to the NCAA Championships for 50 consecutive seasons, snapped last year. A mix of ready returners and determined newcomers will help 6th-year Head Coach Luke Smith return the program to new prominence in the wrestling world.
• Smith recruited two standout veterans to help guide the way: 2021 NCAA Champion (197) AJ Ferrari and 3-time NCAA Qualifier (174/165) Gerrit Nijenhuis (Oklahoma/Purdue).
• Several consistent starters from last season’s lineup give Bakersfield a battle-tested lineup: Richard Castro-Sandoval (125), Santino Sanchez (133), Brock Rogers (149), Devyn Flores-Che (157), Guillermo Escobedo (165), and Jake Andrews (HWT).

• The last `Runner to win a Pac-12 title was Sean Nickell in 2019 (133). Nickell was actually a two-time conference Champion, winning the 125-pound crown in 2018.
• CSUB has not had multiple Pac-12 Champions in the same year since 2013. Ferrari and Andrews are frontrunners to change history.

@ Pacific: Tuesday, Mar. 4 at 5:05 p.m. 

• Bakersfield will travel to Stockton today for the first of four games against Pacific. These games will be spread out throughout the season, with two home games and two games played at Pacific’s ballpark.
• Tuesday’s game marks the first of four matchups between the `Runners and Tigers this season. Pacific will visit Bakersfield for two games on March 11th and 12th before CSUB returns to Stockton on April 15th.
• In the all-time series against Pacific, CSUB is tied 8-8.
• Last year, the two teams split a pair of midweek games, with each team winning on its home field, both by identical scores of 11-1.
• Pacific begins the year with a 7-5 overall record, having won their series against conference foe UC San Diego, whom Bakersfield will face this weekend.

UC San Diego: Friday - Sunday, Mar. 7-9

• The Bakersfield Roadrunners will close out non-conference play and open Big West action with a three-game series at UC San Diego.
• This series will be the fourth series meeting between these two teams since CSUB joined the Big West in 2021.
• Bakersfield’s last win against the Tritons came in April 2022 when seniors Brock Perreira, Nick Perryman, and Cody Hendricks were freshmen and Assistant Coach Matt Comnos was pitching for the `Runners.
