CSUB Athlete of the Week: AJ Ferrari

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — AJ Ferrari has earned Cal State Bakersfield athlete of the week honors after posting an impressive performance during the Roadrunners' dual victory over Big Ten foe Michigan State.

Ferrari, ranked the No. 1 wrestler in the country at 197 pounds, earned a bonus-points win over No. 25 Remy Cotton, 14-4. The `Runner jumped out to a big lead and never looked back, on his way to Ferrari's first win in front of the home crowd in the Icardo Center.

With the win, Ferrari improved to 3-0 on the season with two of those victories coming against ranked foes. The four points he earned for the team score were vital in helping Cal State Bakersfield defeat Michigan State, 21-14. The `Runners are now 3-0 all-time against the Spartans.
