McGhee III Resets Single-Game Scoring Record; `Runners Win

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Roadrunners got back into the win column Sunday night with a victory at home over the La Sierra Golden Eagles. Cal State Bakersfield now improves to a 5-6 record on the year and is still undefeated at home (4-0). Bakersfield was led by Marvin McGhee III with an almost perfect night from the field.

McGhee III reset CSUB's Division I single game scoring record and the single game record for three pointers made. His 36 points dethroned former teammate Kaleb Higgins, who previously set the record in March of 2024 versus UC Riverside in the Big West Championship, and McGhee III reset the three-point record, which was eight made three pointers in a game by Zack Grasmick in December of 2007 also versus UC Riverside.

Jaden Alexander also had 18 points and seven rebounds to help the Roadrunners cruise past the Golden Eagles, and snap the three game skid the `Runners were on.

Get your tickets now for Cal State Bakersfield's next game, Saturday, Dec. 21, as the `Runners defend their undefeated home record against Portland State. Beat the line, buy online at GoRunners.com/Tickets.
