BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Jemel Jones from men's basketball was named the Cal State Bakersfield Athlete of the Week after leading the Roadrunners to a pair of home wins.

Jones led the team in scoring in each of the team's three games this season, capped by a 25-point performance that rallied CSUB from a 15-point second-half deficit to an 86-81 victory over North Dakota State. Jones made 10 of 15 field goals and was 5 for 6 from the free-throw line in the win. He had 19 points in a season-opening loss at Cal and followed that up with a team-high 22 points in a lopsided victory over Bethesda.
