• The Cal State Bakersfield men's soccer team returned itself to a three-way tie for first place in the Big West standings after picking up three vital points on Saturday.
• With three matches to go in the regular season, the Roadrunners are tied with UC Santa Barbara and Cal Poly atop of the league table.
• While CSUB picked up a big win at home this week, and despite a tough road loss, the `Runners have an impressive record of 7-4-5 over the team's last 16 road games.
  • Two-time Big West Offensive Player of the Week Connor Mautino continued to make a notable impact, scoring a pair of goals in CSUB's win against UC San Diego this weekend. Mautino now has 10 goals on the season, become the first `Runner to tally double-digit goals in a single season in a decade (12, Julian Zamora, 2014).
• CSUB (6-3-4, 3-1-2 BW) will continue Big West play next week with two more tough matchups:
• Oct. 23 – at UC Davis (5-5-5, 1-3-2 BW)
• Oct. 26 – vs. UC Riverside (3-5-5, 1-1-4 BW)

UC Irvine 1, CSUB 0

• The `Runners continued Big West play with their first road loss since the end of August.
• The two teams played a very even first half, with both earning a fair share of quality opportunities.
• UC Irvine broke through late in the first half with a goal in the 43rd minute, which would prove to be the gamewinner.
• Bakersfield rallied in the second period, outshooting the Anteaters 10-3 in the half field witha  6-3 advantage in corner kicks.
• Despite a few near misses, the `Runners were unable to find the equalizer and suffered just their second road loss of the season.

CSUB 3, UC San Diego 1

• Cal State Bakersfield got back in the win column thanks to a hot offensive start.
• The `Runners pounced on the Tritons just 3 minutes and 19 seconds into the match 
  • Adrian Jogerst scored his second goal of the season on a cross from Bryson Hankins.
• Just 30 seconds later, CSUB scored again, this time off the foot of Connor Mautino.
• UCSD responded well but was unable to close the gap before the halftime whistle.
• In the 80th minute, the Tritons finally broke through to make the score 2-1.
• UCSD's momentum was cut down less than a minute later when Mautino scored his second goal of the night, which proved to be the dagger in the match.
• CSUB goalkeeper Zenden Hart made four more saves in Bakersfield's victory. 
  • Since CSUB's 3-2 victory at No. 18 Portland on Sept. 5, Hart has enjoyed seeing his Goals Against Average drop from 1.62 to 1.18, ranking him third among all Big West goalies.

• The Cal State Bakersfield Roadrunners played a rigorous non-conference schedule to be ready for Big West play:
  • Opened the season against the San Diego State Aztecs in front of 1,966 fans.
  • Faced off against #17-ranked Texas, where goalkeeper Hollee Hercik reset CSUB’s Division I record with 15 saves in a Bakersfield match against Texas.
• Senior Karen Flores leads the team in goals with 4 total.
• Bakersfield native Gia Valenti scored her first goal as a Roadrunner on Senior Night.
• Miah Thomas scored her first collegiate goal and game-winner against UC Davis.
• Hollee Hercik tops Jordan Bertram and is now third in CSUB's all-time rankings for career saves at 200 and counting.
• Cal State Bakersfield women’s soccer team took down reigning Big West champions UC Irvine with a thrilling 1-0 victory.
• `Runners make history on a successful week at home.

CSUB 1, UCSB 1

• Kimberly Garcia scored her third season goal, assisted by Paige Rodriguez, in the second half to help the Roadrunners secure the tie. 
• This makes it the 3rd  tie in program history against the Gauchos.
• This tie makes the `Runners and Gauchos both take home a point each for their conference tally.

CSUB 2, Cal Poly 0

• The `Runners ran past the Mustangs with a breeze in a 2-0 victory.
• After almost a scoreless game, Kim netted her 4th goal of the season in the 47th minute.
• Paige Rodriguez scored an Olimpico goal to seal the game against the Mustangs.
• This win earned the `Runners 3 points, which now tallies 14 points in total. The most points ever to be achieved in conference play since joining the Big West Conference in 2020.
• The Runners are now 4-1-3 in conference, the most wins ever in conference program history.

• The Cal State Bakersfield women’s cross country team took a trip up north over the weekend to compete in the Bronco Invitational hosted by Santa Clara University.
• The Baylands Park course in Sunnyvale, Calif. was the final regular season meet for the team as they look ahead for championship season.
• Rain Gomez has continued to show dominance for the Roadrunners as she now holds the #8 spot on the CSUB all-time list. The Bakersfield native has made an impact in her only year in the blue and gold.
• Gomez holds the #8 spot in the 6k while also holding the school record in the 4k distance for the `Runners.
• Neyda Martinez moved back up to #2 on the team for Bakersfield and was just shy of her personal best in the 6k distance. Martinez completed the race with a time of 23:36.
• Newcomer Crystal Torrecillas and Junior Valerie Garcia both finished the course with personal bests. Torrecillas crossed the line with a time of 24:04, while Garcia finished with a 24:32.
• Alicia Muralles was the final runner in the top five for CSUB.
• The `Runners finished 19th out of 19 as a team with a total of 573 points at the meet. 
• Bakersfield returns to action on Saturday, Nov. 2, for the Big West Championships in Riverside, Calif.

• The Cal State Bakersfield volleyball team faced a challenging weekend in conference play, going up against UC Davis and UC Riverside. The Roadrunners showed resilience and skill, but ultimately fell short in both matches.

CSUB 1, UC Davis 3

• The Roadrunners kicked off their weekend at the Icardo Center against UC Davis. In a tightly contested match that went to four sets, the Aggies emerged victorious.
• UC Davis came out strong, taking the first set 25-19, as Bakersfield struggled to find their rhythm. In the second set, the Roadrunners rallied back, narrowly edging the Aggies 25-22. This brief surge of momentum was promising, but Bakersfield couldn’t sustain it. In the final two sets, they fell back into their earlier struggles, with both sets finishing at 25-19 in favor of UC Davis.
• Sydney Dunning was once again a standout performer for the Roadrunners, recording 15 kills with a hitting percentage of .250 and adding 10 digs for her fifth double-double of the season. Learden Lee also made significant contributions, posting 8 kills at an impressive .333 hitting percentage, along with one block.

CSUB 1, UC Riverside 3

• The following day, Bakersfield traveled to Riverside for another Big West showdown, facing a team that had yet to secure a conference victory this season. Despite their opponent's struggles, the Roadrunners were unable to capitalize and fell short.
• In the first set, Riverside took control, and Bakersfield found themselves trailing in a tough battle that ended 25-18. However, the Roadrunners regrouped and fought back, managing to take the second set. Unfortunately, they couldn’t maintain their momentum and dropped the next two sets, allowing Riverside to clinch their first conference win of the season.
• Dunning continued to shine, notching another double-double with 13 kills and 10 digs while hitting .257 for the match. Paige Dugan also had a noteworthy performance, contributing 10 kills and 5 digs, doing her best to support the team.
