Stephenson Records First Double-Double in Roadrunner Victory

Bakersfield, Calif. – After two overtime losses on the road versus UC Santa Barbara and UC Davis, the `Runners came back home to host UC Riverside (7-11, 2-4 BW). Bakersfield got their first conference win of the season with an 80 – 56 victory.

The Roadrunners were led by Sophomore, Corey Stephenson, who had himself a night. Stephenson reset his career high in points with 21 points and rebounds with 11. The Northeast Mississippi CC transfer recorded his first double-double of his college career. 

In the last four games, Stephenson has played a huge role for the `Runners both offensively and defensively. The Sophomore is averaging 14.5 points per game, 6.5 rebounds per game, while shooting nearly 50% from the field. 

Bakersfield was dominant on both ends of the floor shooting 52.6% from the field and 45.5% from the three-point line. The Roadrunners made their trips to the free throw line count, knocking down 15 of their 20 opportunities. On the defensive side, the `Runners pulled down 42 rebounds and holding UC Riverside to a 29.2% field goal percentage and 27.3% from three-point land.
