CSUB vs. UC Davis (7-5)

•  vs. UC Davis Friday, Sept. 29, 6 p.m. (PT) )
  • UC Davis is currently 2-0 in Big West play, beating Fullerton (3-2) and UC Irvine(3-2) in the past week.
  • In preseason, the Aggies competed against number 9, BYU and lost 3 – 0 as well as USC only to produce the same results.
  • Junior outside hitter, Megan Lenn, is ranked number one in the Big West for service aces averaging .54 per set.

CSUB vs. UC Riverside (2-12)

• vs. UC Riverside, Sept. 30, 4 p.m. (PT)
  • UC Riverside ranks last in the Big West for blocks this season, signaling an opportunity for Bakersfield hitters to swing away.
  • The Highlanders are 2-12 for the season, winning one game of conference play against Irvine.
• Both of Bakersfield's matches this week will be live on ESPN+.

• The Cal State Bakersfield Women’s Soccer team rescued a well-deserved 2-2 draw against last year’s Big West second-place UC Davis to remain just one of five teams undefeated in conference play.

CSUB at CSUN (0-9-3)

• The Roadrunners travel to the winless CSUN for a midweek Big West matchup.
  • Northridge, Calif., 7:00 PM (PT) kickoff
• CSUN has played a very deceptively winless season thus far, with quite a few games ending in draws or one-score losses against formidable teams.
  • In terms of common opponents, Northridge tied the UNLV squad that routed CSUB and also tied UC Davis right before the `Runners played the Aggies.
  • The Matadors also suffered a hard-fought 3-0 loss to #4 UCLA.
• Since joining the Big West, the `Runners have generated success against CSUN, including definitive wins for two straight seasons: 2-0 away in 2021 and a massive 3-1 home victory last year.
• CSUN standout goalkeeper Hayden Mauldin is a Bakersfield native who attended Bakersfield High School, and was previously teammates at Northridge with fellow Bakersfield native and current `Runner Stevie Reynolds.
• On paper, both teams are relatively even statistically. The difference will simply come down to who wants the game more, as the opposing teams each have something to prove heading further into the conference schedule

CSUB at CSUN (6-3-2)

• After a road matchup with CSUN, the `Runners travel back home to host the Big West’s overall record leader, Long Beach State.
  • Bakersfield, Calif., 1:00 PM (PT) kickoff
• Long Beach tied UC Irvine 1-1 to open the Big West slate during the annual Black and Blue Rivalry game. The Beach then routed UC Santa Barbara 4-1 on Sunday.
• Coming off their second largest win of the season, the Beach will be looking to take advantage of the momentum, so CSUB will have to be at their best to take a favorable result against such a tough opponent.
• Since joining the Big West, the `Runners have fallen 1-0 and 3-0 to Long Beach State in the past two years.
• Star international defender Kana Uchida highlights the Beach’s roster heading into next Sunday’s match, as she has totaled three assists despite playing from the back line.
• Elysia Laramie leads the conference with 8 goals, 5 assists, and 21 points heading into the week.
• All Big West regular season games for the remainder of the season, will be streamed on ESPN+.

• The Cal State Bakersfield men’s soccer (4-1-3) is on a six-match unbeaten streak, riding ample momentum into the start of conference play.
• The `Runners have only lost one match all season, dating back to August.
• Bakersfield’s only loss came at the hands of No. 21 San Diego State, which is now 6-0-1.
• Bakersfield’s stout defense ranks 11th in NCAA Division I with a 0.625 Goals Against Average.
• CSUB has received three Big West weekly honors this season: Jesse Wangusi (Freshman), Brandon Limes (Defensive), and Luka Geishauser (Freshman)

CSUB at Sacramento State (3-6-0)

• Wednesday, Sept. 27, 4 p.m. (PT) at Sacramento, Calif.
• CSUB leads the all-time series against Sacramento State, 11-7-3.
• The Hornets are an affiliate member of The Big West in the sport of men’s soccer.
• The `Runners are 1-1-0 against the Hornets since joining The Big West, with both team’s stealing road wins in the two meetings.
• Last year in Bakersfield, Sacramento State sneaked out a 1-0 victory at the Main Soccer Field.

CSUB at CSUN (2-3-4)

• Saturday, Sept. 30, 7 p.m. (PT) at Northridge, Calif.
• CSUN dominated CSUB during the two teams’ Division II days, but the series is an even 1-1-0 since Bakersfield joined The Big West in 2021
• Just like with Sacramento State, Bakersfield and CSUN’s rivalry has featured victories for the visiting teams.
• Last year in Bakersfield, the Matadors handed the `Runners a 2-0 defeat thanks to a pair of second-half goals.
• Both games will be streamed on ESPN+.

• Sophomore Sarah Mutai reset Cal State Bakersfield's single-round record with a 3-under-par 69 in the team's season-opening tournament.
• Mutai tied for the team lead in scoring average last year and is pacing the `Runners again so far this season.
• Bakersfield native Iris Han continues to be one of the top `Runner contributors.
  • Han was a three-time Area Golfer of the Year during her prep career at Stockdale High School.
• New Head Coach Katy Barrett Baxter hit the ground running and continues to use her professional experience to help the team excel in the early parts of the season.

• The Roadrunner women’s golf team is wrapping up its time in Couer d’Alene, Idaho, but CSUB will return to the Pacific Northwest next weekend.
