Barnes Signs Corey Stephenson to CSUB Squad

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – Corey Stephenson, a 6-foot-6 guard who recently completed a standout freshman season, will be transferring to Cal State Bakersfield ahead of the 2023-24 men's basketball season. CSUB Head Coach Rod Barnes announced Stephenson's signing on Thursday as the Roadrunners are excited to bring in the Northeast Mississippi Community College All-Conference student-athlete to the program.

    • Shot 49 percent from the field and 81 percent from the free throw line
    • Helped NEMCC to a 16-11 record and am NJCAA Region 23 Tournament appearance
  • A 2022 graduate of Hueytown High School in Hueytown, Ala.
    • As a senior, led the Golden Gophers to a 24-9 record and the State Tournament second round
    • Averaged 25.8 points, 10.3 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 2.8 steals, and 2.7 blocks a game as a senior
