Slayton Posts Lifetime Best at Long Beach

LONG BEACH/WALNUT, Calif. – Riley Slayton maintains her spot as the second fastest women 400-meter hurdler in program history with a huge milestone of breaking 1:00 minute in the event at the Long Beach Invitational over the weekend. The Bakersfield native highlights the weekend for the Roadrunners. Nerissa Thompson and Julia Stein also had stellar performances over the weekend, both moved up on the all-time list in their event.

The `Runners competed in three meets over the weekend, Apr. 13-15 – Pacific Coast Intercollegiate, Mt. Sac Relays, and Long Beach Invitational.

Top `Runner Performers

Julia Stein earned a personal best in the women's 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.22. Stein is now the sixth fastest runner in CSUB history with the time.
Nerissa Thompson is now #10 on the all-time list in the women's 100-meters. Thompson new personal-best in the event is 12.14.
Skyblue Gonzales earned a new PR in the men's 400-meters with a time of 49.32.
Matthew Garrett barely missed his best mark in the men's hammer throw.
In the women's pole vault, Miranda Miller tied her season best mark of 13'07.25".
Riley Slayton competed in three total meets over the weekend. Slayton's biggest result came on the last day with the women's 400-meter hurdles event. She broke the prestigious 1:00 minute mark in the event. Slayton new PB of 59.83 maintains her at #2 all-time.
