Roadrunners Welcome Aggies for Weekend Series

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The Cal State Bakersfield softball team comes back home for a weekend series with the UC Davis Aggies. Bakersfield is coming off a series with a very talented Cal State Fullerton team and the Aggies are coming off a series with Long Beach State. Both teams were swept by the opposing team and looking to get back on track heading into this weekend.

`Runner Notes  
·       Savanna Montoya stood out for the Roadrunners versus Cal State Fullerton. Montoya had two hits in five at-bats, good for a .400 average.
·       Maya Williams still leads the team in several categories such as batting average (.254), hits (18), walks (9), on-base percentage (.369), and stolen bases (6).
·       Ciara Jensen is batting .333 in Big West play with 5 hits in 15 at bats including three doubles and four RBI.
 
Scouting the Opposition 
·       UC Davis (15 – 11, 2 – 4 BW) was swept by Long Beach State this past weekend being outscored 18 – 6.
·       UC Davis played closely with LBSU, and only one game got out of hand where The Beach took control of the game in the 6th and 7th innings, scoring 8 runs after being tied 2 – 2.
·       The Aggie offense is led by Junior, Anna Dethlefson, who is slashing .377/.443/.610. Dethlefson has 29 hits and 19 stolen bases in as many attempts.
·       Davis has a team ERA of 2.26 featuring two pitchers that have sub-2 ERAs. This staff has struck out 112 batters and opponents are currently batting .254 against them.
