•  The Cal State Bakersfield men's basketball team hosts Saint Katherine on Thursday for Education Day. CSUB Athletics welcomes hundreds of kids throughout the Valley and beyond to watch division I basketball and tour the beautiful campus of Bakersfield.
• The Roadrunners look to bounce back this week from their recent losses to PAC-12 opponents, #21 USC and Cal. 
• The team will take on Sacramento State on Monday for round one of the SoCal Challenge.

 CSUB vs. Saint Katherine (2-1) - Education Day

• Thursday, Nov. 16, 11 a.m. (PT), Bakersfield, Calif.
• Around 3,200 kids will be coming Thursday morning.
• CSUB is coming off two Pac-12 opponents versus #21 USC and Cal.
• Kaleb Higgins returned from injury looking better than when he had his injury derailed his season.
• Higgins is averaging 22.7 points per game and is lethal from mid-range.
• Saint Katherine enters this game 2-1, losing their first game in their last time out.
• Losing 49-57 to SAGU American Indian College
• Graduate Student, Xavier Cooper, averaging 16 points per game, 9.7 rebounds per game, and shooting .577% from the field.

 CSUB vs. Sacramento State (0-2) – Game 1, SoCal Challenge

• Monday, Nov. 20, 12 p.m., San Juan Capistrano, Calif.
• CSUB opens SoCal Challenge with Sacramento State.
• Sacramento State is coming off two losses versus Nevada and Stanford.
• Bakersfield leads the all-time series 5-1, last meeting in 2013 in the Icardo Center.

• Zee Homanda is the leading scorer for the Hornets with 16 points per game.
• Cameron Wilbon is making his first appearance versus his former team this year.
• Game 2’s opponent of the SoCal Challenge will be announced following the results of round 1.

• For the fourth straight year, the Cal State Bakersfield Roadrunners will face off against their cross-valley rivals, the Fresno State Bulldogs. Bakersfield trails in the all-time series 3-9.
• Despite being down in the series, CSUB has taken two of the three games since the `Runners joined the Big West, with last season ending in a thrilling 56-53 Bakersfield victory.
• In last season’s game, the team held on for victory thanks to 12 points each from Sophia Tougas and Shaunae Brown, as Brown shot 4-11 three’s with Tougas contributing 4-4 as well.
• This year’s matchup is more important than ever, as the `Runners will be looking to string together two straight victories over Fresno State and protect home court.

CSUB vs. Fresno State (2-0) - Saturday, Nov. 18, 7 PM

• In 2022-23, the Bulldogs had a similarly tough season to the Roadrunners, going 10-22 overall with a 3-15 record in the Mountain West Conference.
• After Fresno State posted a 1-11 mark on the road last year, Bakersfield will have more than one advantage in protecting the Icardo Center this season.
• The Bulldogs, like the `Runners, lost their top scorer from last year but unlike their foe also lost the next three best shooters on top of that. Despite this, Fresno State has still fought to an undefeated start to 2023-24.
• CSUB is still looking for its first regular season win of the year, and if there was ever a time to snatch a victory, it would be during a homecoming rivalry matchup as big as this, especially with all three of Bakersfield’s wins in the all-time series coming under Greg McCall.

• The Cal State Bakersfield women’s volleyball team is on a two-game win streak after their final two road games.
• The `Runners will be finish up their season against Cal State Fullerton on Friday and UC Irvine on Saturday for senior day.
• Bakersfield carries over last weekend's momentum in this week as they have have home court advantage.

CSUB vs. Cal State Fullerton (1-24, 0-16 BW)

• Friday, Nov. 17, 5 p.m. (PT), Bakersfield, Calif.
• CSUB will wrap up the season in their second to last game against Cal State Fullerton on Friday night.
• The Roadrunners welcome all first responders, military, and healthcare workers to the game for Hometown Heroes Night, RSVP for two free tickets to the game at gorunners.com/hero
• The Titans are currently 1-24 overall and 0-16 in conference, giving Bakersfield the advantage.
• Earlier this season Bakersfield swept the floor with Cal State Fullerton in a 3-0 match.

 CSUB vs. UC Irvine (9-18, 7-9 BW) – Senior Night

• Saturday, Nov. 18, 2 p.m. (PT), Bakersfield, Calif.
• UC Irvine has had a competitive season, being ranked 7th in the conference with a 7-9 losing record for the Big West.
• They will cap off their season playing CSUB, with hopes of making it to the Big West Championships.
• The Anteaters came out on top the last time Bakersfield and Irvine met earlier this season, with Irvine taking the 3-0 win.

Both games will be streamed on ESPN+.

• The annual Roadrunner Open is back as the wrestling team is ready to welcome schools and hundreds of individual's from all over to compete!
• The Roadrunners have seen school's such as Iowa State, Fresno State, and Stanford come out and wrestle.
• The event will begin at 9:00 a.m. and will last throughout the day. 10 weight class titles are on the line as their will be an individual champion crowned for each class. 
  • Richard Sandoval (125) is coming off an individual win last weekend when the `Runners welcomed Wyoming.
