• Cal State Bakersfield's women’s volleyball team won both matches this weekend, going on a two-game winning streak. 
  • UC Riverside match ended in a Roadrunner sweep, 3-0
  • The match against UC Davis was a close 4 set game, with Bakersfield coming out on top 3-0.
• Bakersfield’s primary outside hitter for the weekend, Naomi Chankoumi, led the `Runners with 20 kills, posting 2.86 per set. 
• CSUB’s freshmen continue to make an impact, as Breklyn Pulling had 2.57 kills, 0.43 digs and 1.00 blocks per set. Grace Moss, CSUB’s dominant libero, was essential to Bakersfield’s victories, having a total of 25 digs, 3,57 per set. 

  CSUB 3, UC Riverside 0 – Thursday, Nov. 9th 

• Bakersfield swept the floor with Riverside on Thursday night, after coming off an eight-game losing streak. The `Runners were ready to cap off their final weekend on the road with a win. 
• After a close set to start of the match, 25-22, Bakersfield showed no mercy to the Highlanders as they dominated the final two sets, 25-18, 25-16.
• Samia Bhakta had a great game, posting 9 kills at 3.00 per set with a .533 attacking percentage. 
• Freshman, Sydney Dunning continues to make her impact with the `Runners, having 8 kills on the match and 2 digs. 

CSUB 3, UC Davis 1 – Saturday, Nov. 11

• The `Runner’s head-to-head with UC Davis in a four-set match, to win 3-1. The ‘Runners fought through each one of these sets to take to win. 
• In set one, Bakersfield took the set 25-21 with Ava Palm leading the way in kills. UC Davis had a comeback in set two, 25-20.
• The team wrapped up the game in two more sets, to beat Davis 25-19 in both. Winning back-to-back games for the weekend.
• Bakersfield dominated UC Davis defensively, posting 9 blocks in total to the opponents 4 tied with having a total of 53 kills as a team to Davis’s 46.

The Cal State Bakersfield wrestling team opened its 2023-24 duel competition at home on Friday evening against the Wyoming Cowboys. 

• The Roadrunners welcomed and honored veterans throughout Kern County to recognize Veteran’s Day.
• Bakersfield wrestling welcomed the Cowboys of Wyoming to California for their first dual meet of the season. 
• Richard Castro-Sandoval (125) of the Roadrunners shined in the Icardo Center. Sandoval took on Garrett Ricks of Wyoming, 7-4. The redshirt sophomore won by decision. 
• Bakersfield fell to the Cowboys, 40-3.

• Helena Valentic of the Cal State Bakersfield Cross Country team finished 140th overall with a time of 21:46.7 at the NCAA West Regional meet over the weekend. 
• Valentic’s place was the third-best finish for a CSUB athlete at the regional meet. 
• The Haggin Oaks Golf Complex course was the Croatian’s final cross country performance in a Roadrunner singlet. During her time at Bakersfield, she led the team in every meet and broke into the top ten in all distances.
• Valentic holds the school record for the 4k with a time of 14:31.2. She is #2 all-time for the 6k with a time of 21:36.8 and is sixth on the list for the 5k with a time of 18:43.8.

CSUB 59, #21 USC 85 – Thursday, November 9

• USC got out to a hot start, and CSUB struggled to find their footing out the gate. USC outshot CSUB by 20% from the field.
• Kaleb Higgins was held in check in the first half, scoring 6 points while shooting 38% (3-8) from the field.
• The Trojans took advantage of Roadrunner turnovers, scoring 21 points off turnovers.
• Higgins stayed hot in the second game of the season scoring 19 points, tied for the game high with Trojan Isaiah Collier, with five assists on the night. The Senior Guard is now averaging 23 points per game.
• Fidelis Okereke made his debut as a Roadrunner pulling down six rebounds on the night.
• The Roadrunners wrap up their Pac-12 slate tonight versus Cal at 7 p.m.

CSUB 54, Pacific 67 – Sunday, November 12

• Cassidy Johnson returned to her former home from the last four years and played 15 minutes in a very tough back-and-forth contest between two mid-major programs.
• Cal State Bakersfield found itself in foul trouble early, as Pacific converted a good amount of its first quarter points from the charity stripe. Despite this, the Roadrunners still led 16-14 after the first ten minutes.
• Grace Hunter was on fire in the first quarter, putting up two end-to-end layups in just 21 seconds to help CSUB in jumping out to a strong lead.
• The second quarter saw some back-and-forth play with plenty of lead changes. Pacific took control and outscored the `Runners 38-23 in the second and third quarters combined. The Tigers shot about 44% and 57% in those two periods.
• Although there was a surge of high-quality shots in the fourth and final quarter, it was not quite enough to erase Pacific's longstanding double-digit lead.
• Morgan Edwards made her mark in fantastic fashion, performing a highlight-reel over-the-back layup while falling, scoring 12 points on the evening to go with 5 rebounds. Grace Hunter totaled 16 points to lead the team on offense.
• The `Runners now have a homecoming against Fresno State, as Bakersfield prepares to Rally for the Valley in the program's biggest rivalry game of the year.
