CSUB vs. UC Irvine (4-3-3, 1-0-1 BW) - Education Day

• Around 2,000 local school children are expected to be in attendance to root the `Runners to victory.
• The Anteaters are currently tied with CSUB and UC San Diego for second in The Big West standings.
• UCI leads the all-time series against CSUB, 8-1-0.
• Bakersfield is looking for its first win against the Anteaters since joining the league in 2021.
• Last year in Irvine, UCI edged the `Runners for a 2-1 victory.

CSUB vs. Cal State Fullerton (8-2-2, 2-0-0 BW) - Viva Los `Runners Night

• Saturday, Oct. 30, 7 p.m. (PT) at Northridge, Calif.
• Viva Los `Runner Night celebrates Latinx Heritage Month - we will have music, a food truck, and more!
  • The first 250 fans in the gates get a free Roadrunner scarf!
• Cal State Fullerton won both of its conference-opening matches and sit at the top of the table in first place.
• The `Runners own a 5-2-1 advantage in the all-time series against the Titans.
• Cal State Fullerton defeated CSUB a year ago, but Bakersfield had undefeated against the Titans in the five previous meetings.
• Last year in Fullerton, the home team handed CSUB a 1-0 defeat.

• The Cal State Bakersfield Women’s Soccer team started last week with a tough loss to CSUN but came back strong at home against Long Beach State with a definitive 3-0 clean sheet victory.
• With a goal and assist on the weekend, Jette Zimmer now leads the team with six points from two goals and two assists despite playing less than 50 minutes per game.
• CSUB will have a great opportunity to climb the Big West table as Hawai’i and UC Riverside currently occupy the first and second spots, respectively, in the conference standings.

CSUB vs. Hawai’i (3-4-3, 2-2-1 BW)

• Hawai’i, the Big West’s current first-place team, travel across the Pacific Ocean for a match in Bakersfield.
  • Bakersfield, Calif., 7:00 PM (PT) kickoff
• Despite being the No. 1 team via conference standings, the entirety of the Big West is separated by no more than three points, or one win, giving the impression that anyone can beat anyone.
  • This was shown in action by CSUB’s draw of UC Davis and upset victory over Long Beach State.
• The Rainbow Wahine are also winless away from home soil, giving the `Runners an advantage with their second-straight match at the Main Soccer Field.
• Since joining the Big West, CSUB is 0-1-1 against Hawai’i with last year’s contest ending in a 1-1 draw.
• The `Runner defense will need to be on its game, as the Rainbow Wahine’s Amber Gilbert is second in the conference with six goals.

CSUB at UC Riverside (2-7-4, 2-2-0 BW)

• Following the Thursday game, CSUB heads back on the road for three straight away games starting with UC Riverside on Sunday.
  • Riverside, Calif., 2:00 PM (PT) kickoff
• Although the Highlanders have just a 2-7-4 overall record, they are currently sitting at second in the Big West with a 2-2 conference record.
• UCR began conference play with wins over Cal State Fullerton and Hawai’i but dropped both of last week’s contests with losses against UC Santa Barbara and Cal Poly.
• CSUB is 4-7-1 all-time against UC Riverside with no defeats to the Highlanders since joining the Big West.
• Riverside relies more on its defense, as its offense has produced the second-lowest number of shots in the conference.

• The Cal State Bakersfield Volleyball team continues their four-game home stretch in the Icardo Center this week.
• After splitting a pair of Big West matches last week, the `Runners are ready to get right back at it with two more days of Big West play at home.
• Bakersfield’s underclassmen are flourishing on the court.
  • Freshman Sydney Dunning had a breakout match against UC Davis, posting 5.5 kills per set. She was top three in kills for the team over the weekend. 
  • Breklyn Pulling is a force on the front line for the `Runners, matching her season high of seven blocks in a match this past weekend. The middle blocker continues to be Top 10 in the Big West for both blocks (1.02 per set) and kills (151). 
  • Libero Grace Moss continues to rank seventh in digs in the Big West (3.59 per set) and No. 3 in service aces (0.38).

CSUB vs. Long Beach State (9-5, 3-1 BW) - Pride Night 

• Friday, Oct. 6th, 7 p.m. (PT), Icardo Center
• Pride Night shirts will be on sale for $10 at the merchandise table in the Icardo lobby as the `Runners show their support for the LGBTQ+ community.
• Long Beach State is currently 3-1 in conference play heading into the weekend.
• Bakersfield will face one of their biggest challenges yet. Earlier this season the Beach beat Texas, which was ranked No. 1 in the nation last year. Last week LBSU swept Hawai’i, the 2022 Big West Champions.
• LBSU leads Bakersfield 5-2 all-time, including a pair of sweep over the `Runners in 2022.

CSUB vs. UC San Diego (8-8, 0-4 BW) - Pink Night

• Saturday, Oct. 7th, 4 p.m. (PT), Icardo Center
• Pink Night is in support of breast cancer awareness. Wear Pink and get a $5 ticket at the box office.
• The `Runners will be looking to sprint away from the Tritons, who have standard conference play winless.
• Junior Ava McInnes is currently ranked No. 1 in the Big West for kills per set at 3.76.
• UCSD has a narrow, 16-15 advantage all-time against the `Runners.
• The Tritons won both matches against CSUB last year, returning the favor as Bakersfield swept the regular-season series in 2021
