• Cal Poly is one of the teams trailing CSUB with hopes of making the playoffs.
• The Mustangs as the third-most familiar foe in CSUB’s history with the all-time series dating all the way back to 1979.
• These two teams were big rivals during their NCAA Division II days.
• Since CSUB moved to NCAA Division I in 2007, Cal Poly is undefeated against the `Runners (7-0-1).

• Cal State Bakersfield women’s soccer (3-9-4, 2-4-3 BW) was pushed just out of postseason reach last week with the 5-1 loss to UC Irvine, leaving the Roadrunners with just pride left to play heading into the final game of the season.
• With the season finale at home against Cal State Fullerton, the team and staff will honor the following seniors playing their final game in a Bakersfield jersey:
  • Chloe Sizemore, Hailey Russell, Regielly Halldorsdottir, Nicola Lebakos, Penny Smith, Alani Mexia, Dome Rodriguez, and Kiara Oliver.
• The `Runners have already set a better road record than last season and now have the opportunity to reset their most single-season wins since joining the Big West, which would match 2022’s 4-win year.
• Dome Rodriguez, in what is most likely her final game, shot into the goals (3) and points (7) lead on the team thanks to her late, shutout-spoiling penalty kick goal vs. UC irvine.

CSUB vs. Cal State Fullerton (7-4-7, 5-1-3 BW)

• Thursday, Oct. 26, 7 p.m. (PT), Bakersfield, Calif.
• The Titans are unbeaten in their last eight games, including a four-game shutout win streak against some of the conference’s top teams.
• Cal State Fullerton does not possess the most potent offense in the Big West but is incredibly efficient on the defensive side of the ball.
  • CSF has allowed just four goals since its last loss back on Sept. 17, while co-leading the Big West in goals allowed per game with 1.00 through 18 games.
• Prior to joining the Big West, CSUB carried a 1-1-1 record against the Titans, which has since moved to 1-3-1 during the Big West-era. However, every game in the all-time series has also been decided by an average of one goal through the five meetings.
• In what will be an interesting clash of opposites, Fullerton will be battling for first place in the conference, while Bakersfield will have multiple long-time `Runners playing their final game and looking to make a statement.

• The Cal State Bakersfield women's cross country team competed at four regular meet's this 2023 season. 
• Helena Valentic broke into the top #10 CSUB record books for three different distances: Reset the school record for the 4k in 14:31, #2 for 6k with a personal best of 21:#6, and #6 for the 5k in 18:43. 
• Neyda Martinez set a personal best for the 6k in 23:35, at the Bronco Challenge and is #11 all-time at the distance. 
• Both Valentic and Martinez have showed consistent progress across all distances throughout the season. 

2023 Big West Championships

• Friday, Oct. 27, 9:15 a.m. (PT), Nipomo, Calif.
• 6k race, Blacklake Golf Course
• Championship season is officially here for the Cross Country team, all Big West schools are set to toe the line early morning to claim champions individually and as a team. 
• Last year, Helena Valentic finished first for the team and 54th overall with a time of 22:18.3. 
• The Roadunners finished 10th overall as a team. 
• Neyda Martinez and Alicia Muralles also have experience in a championship race, both women race at last year's championships. 
• Jayden Reyes Sarmiento, Anicia Carrillo, Alea Gaona, and Valerie Garcia round up the travelling squad.

• The Cal State Bakersfield volleyball team (6-16, 2-8 BW) on the road for a rematch against CSUN, followed by a home game in the Icardo Center against Hawai’i.
• After having a solid weekend of play, with 3.43 kills per set paired with 1.86 digs a set, Ava Palm continues to move up in the Big West. The Bakersfield native moved up to tenth in kills per set at 2.80 overall.
• Red-Shirt Freshman, Breklyn Pulling continues to make her impact on the court, ranking sixth in the big west with a .295 hitting percentage combined with ranking 11th in blocks having .99 a set.

CSUB at CSUN (4-17, 2-8 BW)

• Thursday, Oct. 26, 6:00 p.m. (PT), at Northridge, Calif.
• Bakersfield heads into round two of playing Big West competition starting off with CSUN.
• The Matadors are currently ranked 2-8 in the Big West, ranking second to last overall.
• Bakersfield native from Garcias High School, Perri Starkey leads the Matadors offensively, leading her team with 2.36 kills per set.

CSUB vs. Hawaii (15-6, 8-2 BW)  - Alumni Day

• Saturday, Oct. 28, 4:00 p.m. (PT) Bakersfield, Calif.
• Hawaii continues their winning streak, having won their last three games, they are currently ranked second overall in the conference.
• Senior, Amber Igiede, leads the Rainbow Wahine offensively ranking first in Big West for hitting percentage of .398 and second in kills per set at 3.75.
