• In an olympic year, Vili Sivec continued making his case heard over the weekend, taking wins for the third straight week including a pair of individual victories for the second week in a row.
• Both the Men's and Women's teams fell to UCSD but had definitive wins against the other tri-meet opponent, Claremont-Mudd-Scripps.
• The team's leading Croatian on the women's side, Lorena Jerebic, continues improving in a landmark season for her, taking individual wins yet again and helping the women's team take its first dual win.

CSUB Sprint Classic – Friday, Oct. 13

• Jerebic nearly reset her career-high for the 100 Fly, winning the individual race at a mark of 56.93, hardly a second more than her best from last year.
• Sivec had his fastest 200 Fly dual-meet time of the season in his two individual wins on the weekend.
• Kylie Ney and Arthur Schneider continued making their mark on the team as up-and-comers, each performing well in a bevy of races, including the 1,000 and 200 Free, as well as the 500.
• Sivec's times ranked near the top of the MPSF, while his 200 Fly time cracked the NCAA Division I's top-40. Jerebic also posted a top-10 time in the conference for her 200 Fly.

• The Cal State Bakersfield's men's soccer team remains in the hunt for a playoff spot after dropping a pair of matches this week.
• The Roadrunners have one match remaining next Saturday in which they host Senior Day with a postseason berth on the line.
• CSUB’s defense came into the weekend ranked first in the Big West and 14th in all of NCAA Division I with a 0.733 Goals Against Average.
• Bakersfield-native Bryson Hankins is second on the team in points (9) and goals (3) despite being a defender.
• The `Runners have earned four Big West Player of the Week honors so far this season.

   CSUB 0, UC Davis 2 – Wednesday, Oct. 18

• The Cal State Bakersfield men’s soccer team fell behind early against UC Davis and could not make a comeback in the 2-0 loss.
• Bakersfield played with great energy and drive, equaling Davis in shots (12) and shots on goal (4), also owning an 11-1 advantage in corner kicks.
• Due to injuries, Bakersfield deployed extra youth with five freshmen in the starting lineup.
• CSUB lost back-to-back games for the first time this season.

CSUB 1, UC Riverside 2 – Saturday, Oct. 21

• The Roadrunners gained a late lead on the road at UC Riverside, but the Highlanders stormed back to earn a 2-1 victory at home.
• CSUB scored in the 79th minute, but UCR answered back 32 seconds later to tie.
• The Highlanders scored with 8 seconds left in the match to seal the victory.
• The `Runners were unable to take advantage of playing up a man for the final 72 minutes after a Highlander picked up a red card in the 18th minute.
• CSUB outshot UCR 16-6 on the match, but only six of Bakersfield's shots were on target.

• The Cal State Bakersfield women's soccer team is now out of the playoff race after falling to UC Irvine on the weekend. The team now looks toward Senior Night on Thursday to cap off the season.
• CSUB came up against one of the perennial Big West playoff teams, and a nationally-ranked team last season, UC Irvine. The `Runners fell to the lethal and merciless Anteater attack in a game that would decide their playoff fate.
• Regardless of the weekend's result, the `Runners will end the season with a better road record than last year and have plenty of proud moments to look back on as the team prepares for the future with Bernardo Silva at the helm, this time with a full offseason of preparation.

CSUB 1, UC Irvine 5 – Thursday, Oct. 19

• In a tough night at the Main Soccer Field, the Roadrunners had their playoff fate decided during a 5-1 loss to the Anteaters. 
• Bernardo Silva had a message for the players and fans, “In the end, the result is fair and indicative of where we are at in the rebuilding process. To play in the Big West, we have to be accountable for our mistakes all year, and I know that we still have plenty of growing to do. We will come back better and hungrier next year after taking a long offseason of self-reflection and team-building."
• Hollee Hercik was on fire in the first half, making three highlight-worthy saves on 13 total shots and keeping the score at just 1-nil after a 27th-minute UC Irvine strike.
• The Anteaters led loose the floodgates just a few minutes into the second half and found the back of the net four times in just a 3:30 span, effectively putting the game far out of reach.
• In the 84th-minute, Bakersfield pulled back a consolation goal when Dome Rodriguez converted a penalty for what could very well be her final career game on a CSUB pitch, as the Ecuadorian senior was called up to her Senior National Team for the final week of the season.

• Cal State Bakersfield's volleyball starts off the week with a road trip against CSUN. Finishing up the week, CSUB will be back at home against the Rainbow Wahine. 
• Ava Palm continues to lead the Roadrunners, after posting 24 kills on the weekend, having 3.34 kills per set. 
• Freshman, Nene Hawkins also keeps making her impact on the court, posting 8.71 assists per set as CSUB’s primary setter. 

  CSUB 0, UC Santa Barbara 3 – Saturday, Oct. 21

• Bakersfield faced off last weekend against UC Santa Barbara, the number one team in the conference with a 10-0 record.
• Set one was kept close, with Bakersfield losing 25-23. Breklyn Pulling led the way for the `Runners with 6 kills during the set. 
• Set two and three were similar. Bakersfield fought hard but were unable to be victorious in the end. Ava Palm hit .417 during set three with six kills, however it was not enough to stop UCSB.

  CSUB 1, Cal Poly 3 – Saturday, Oct. 21

• Bakersfield got behind early to a fast-starting Cal Poly squad.
• CSUB took their lone set in the third by a score of 25-22.
  • Coming hot out of set two, the `Runners only trailed once in the third set, and by just one point at that. 
• The Roadrunners had an attack percentage of .385 in the third set.
• The `Runners continued their momentum into the fourth set, taking a 7-2 lead.
  • Cal Poly eventually put a stop to the bleeding and took control of the set.
• Both teams tied in total digs (45).
• Bakersfield-native Ava Palm led the match with 13 kills, while Paige Dugan led with 10 digs.
• Sophia Bertotti Metoyer led the way in blocks (6) and Samia Bhakta was just one behind her, which was good for second in the match. 
• True freshman Nene Hawkins had 32 assists, which was one assist behind the match leader.
