`Runner Throwers Move Up Top CSUB 10 List

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The Cal State Bakersfield track and field team kicked off the UNM Team Open on Friday with a solid set of results. Led by a near school record and two Top 10 CSUB list improvements, the Roadrunners enjoyed a quality performance at a highly-competitive meet.

Riley Slayton finished fourth overall in the 600-meter race. Her time of 1:37.74 was just shy of her own school record in the event.
Jessi Solis posted a huge PR in the weight throw on Friday. The graduate of Highland High School had a best toss of 51-11.25, nearly a two-foot improvement on her previous best. The mark moved her up to seventh in CSUB history in the weight throw.
Fellow thrower Madison King posted a new PR as well with a mark of 49-03.75. She moved up to ninth in the CSUB Top 10 list.
Kassidy Neptune returned to action for the first time after a serious knee injury. She cleared 10-06.75 on the pole vault while posting a Top 8 finish in the B section of a highly-competitive field.
