Miller's School Record Highlights Week 2 of Indoor Season

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – The 2023 indoor season continued on Friday for Cal State Bakersfield as the Roadrunner women competed at Northern Arizona's Lumberjack Team Challenge. CSUB enjoyed a number of quality performances, headlined by a new school record in the pole vault by junior Miranda Miller.

Miller reset her own CSUB indoor pole vaulting record by nearly half a foot. In her first competition of the season, Miller posed a mark of 13-07.25, besting a field of professionals, post-collegians, and collegiate vaulters from Arizona and GCU.
Riley Slayton won the 600-meter race with a time 1:38.23, a two and a half second improvement from last week's meet.
Julie Johnson placed second in the 400, crossing the line in 58.96 seconds, over half a second faster than her 59.64 the week prior.
Nerissa Thompson won her 60-meter dash heat (7.85), qualifying as one of eight women in the field of 30. She finished eighth in the finals with a personal best time of 7.85.
Jessi Solis placed sixth in the weight throw with a toss of 49-09.25, two inches improved over last week's top mark. Teammate Kayla Prince came in two spots back with a throw of 46-11.50.
