BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – For the second-straight night, the Cal State Bakersfield volleyball team battled a tough Big West foe and the Roadrunners came out on the wrong side of the scoreboard. Inside the Icardo Center on Saturday, CSUB fell in straight sets at the hands of Long Beach State (6-4, 1-1 Big West).

Notables

CSUB's front line went toe-to-toe with LBSU as both teams tallied 11 blocks on the evening.
The Beach owned the hitting advantage, posting a .212 clip as a team while holding CSUB to just .044 hitting.
Bakersfield's Ava Palm posted five kills, four digs, and six blocks on Saturday, doing a little bit of everything for the `Runners.
CSUB is now 3-11 on the season and off to an 0-2 start in Big West play.

Set 1 (LBSU, 25-22)

Bakersfield rallied to apply pressure, but LBSU sealed the deal.
CSUB outblocked LBSU 6.0 to 3.0 in the set.
Palm tallied three kills, three digs, and four blocks in the opening game.

Set 2 (LBSU, 25-16)

After a close early set, LBSU gained a slim lead at 17-13 and surged ahead 21-14.
The `Runners hit just .087 in the second game while the Beach hit .238.

Set 3 (LBSU, 25-14)

LBSU kept the momentum rolling and jumped out to a 9-2 lead, but Bakersfield responded with four-straight points to keep the score close.
The Beach closed the match on an 11-1 run.
