NORTHRIDGE, Calif. – Playing their first Big West road match of the 2022 season, the Cal State Bakersfield Roadrunners stumbled in a three-set loss against the CSUN Matadors.

Notables

CSUN hit .291 as a team while the `Runners posted just a .037 hitting percentage.
CSUB was held to a season-low 1.0 total blocks on the night while CSUN recorded 8.0 blocks.
Outside hitter Ava Palm tallied eight kills to lead the `Runners while also adding eight digs.
CSUB libero Paige Calvin recorded 16 digs against the Matadors.
`Runner setter Laura De Pra posted a career-high six kills to go with 17 assists.
Three of Bakersfield's top four hitters -- Hayley McCluskey, Lizzie Binder, and Hana Makonova -- combined for four total kills on a collective -.173 hitting percentage.

Set 1 (CSUN, 25-14)

From a 12-11 CSUB lead, Bakersfield went cold as CSUN closed the set on a 14-2 run.
Calvin tallied eight digs in the opening set alone.

The Matadors held a slim lead through most of the second set.
CSUN won five of the last seven points to seal a 2-0 lead on the match.
Palm led the team with seven kills to that point.

Bakersfield shook up the lineup, giving opportunities for a few young `Runners to make an impact.
Freshman Naomi Chankoumi posted three kills on ten swings in the final set.
Redshirt freshman Golden Finch made her collegiate debut while recording her first kill as a `Runner.
