Roadrunners Go Undefeated in Preseason With 1-0 Shutout Over APU

Box Score BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – California State University, Bakersfield earned its second-straight clean sheet Saturday night with a 1-0 win over Azusa Pacific University. The Roadrunners close their preseason slate 2-0 and now prepare for the regular season as countable games draw nearer.

  • APU earned the first corner of the contest at 30:47, then took four more in the next six minutes following but were unable to convert any of their set pieces into a scoring play.

Second Half
  • Karen Flores scored the opening goal in the 63rd minute. A corner kick to far post was sent back across to Flores in the middle for a six-yard finish.

  • The bulk of the CSUB first half offense at the box came from Karen Flores. She had eight of the 14 shots taken by the Roadrunners and five of the seven SOG recorded.
  • Bakersfield was aggressive on the ball tallying 10 fouls and a pair of yellow cards.
  • APU went 0-for-7 from corners while the CSUB capitalized on their sole corner of the game.
